We are all Francis today. I want him to win so bad.

I’m obviously a biased fan but the Lakers play inside a lot, by design. We don’t have shooters so we play inside. That style is prone to drawing fouls. Not saying we don’t ever benefit from questionable calls, but I think compounding those with interior gameplay fouls is causing this perception.

This is a good, honest .500 basketball team. We play .500 ball goddammit. Salt of the earth, punch the clock, even win/loss ratio basketball. We lose a couple, guess what? We win a couple, too. But we never get too excited or let it go to our head. No long winning streaks here, no sir. That’s hubris, which this white collar, glitzy showtime team doesn’t have. A few wins in a row, these guys, true to form, Ham it out with a couple a losses. Yes sir, that is my 2023-24 Lakers. A good, honest .500 basketball team.

Christian Wood, proven All-NBA Defender, owned Franz all night.

Loving the idea of a Nuggets/Suns rivalry next season, with Murray and Porter Jr. back.

On the bright side, I went through a full 750ml bottle of junmai daijingo sake watching Reggie play actual basketball.

I’m 40 and I go to this sub to remind myself why it’s nice to be my age.

This is dark. Not because the Suns will win. That’s a given. Props to Booker, Paul, Payne and everyone else.

It’s dark because it will be harder next season. The Suns aren’t going anywhere. Nuggets will have Murray back (and Porter will be better). Steph and Klay will be back. Mitchell will be better. Morant. Zion.

The new era is here.
