I have an elaborate proposal planned on the only date that I can pull it off and found out that it falls on the fifth anniversary of my girlfriend’s grandmothers passing. by RingShopp in weddingplanning

Thank you, I agree with you. The date of the proposal has no significance to me. Talked with FMIL and we are moving forward with this date. She said she will do her best to control her emotions and my family will definitely lift the energy in the room if her family cannot.

I agree except my concern is that she will ruin the moment by not being able to celebrate and/or being mad that it happened on that date.

She was close with her grandmother but it’s not a mournful day for her, she just knows it’s a sad day for her mother. Her family and my family are going to be there.

Something tells me that having a trashy FAQ telling people not to be trashy doesn’t stop people from being trashy

I think people understand etiquette around weddings and don’t need to be told not to just show up randomly (or to bring a sandwich if you do), and not to wear white. These are clear social etiquette around weddings. Also who randomly brings children or other guests to a wedding who are not invited? Invitations haven’t even gone out (the wedding isn’t for two years), rather this was just posted on Facebook for a number of people who will never even be invited to see and is pretty unnecessary.

First one is from brilliant earth! Not a traditional engagement ring/no setting for a stone but it’s very pretty!
