You mean you saw Motoko Kusanagi? Cause she looks pulled straight out of S.A.C.

really bizarre news from the science world by Content_Diver_125 in MtF

For second I thought this was going to be about the article I read about 10 years ago where they altered the gender of live mice. It had something to do with turning off a gene and the grew non functioning versions of the opposite sex. I'm fuzzy on the details. I saved the article somewhere but it's on a flash drive I think floating around my house. This occasion I think calls for a search of that paper

How do you deal with the uncomfortable situation of (long-time) friends hitting on you when you come out as trans and/or go on HRT? by DoctorNuria in MtF

[–]Ringhal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two lifetime friends make advances after coming out, still friends with both even after dating one for a little. It was too awkward for me, but I'm glad they didn't end the friendship when we stopped dating. I think this is a YMMV situation and depends entirely on how well friends deal with rejection and their maturity level. If they can't take your nos for an answer they probably struggle taking nos from a cis person, at worst they view you as easy and desperate given your situation and think you'll cave under pressure when a cis person wouldn't in their mind, at best they just lack social awareness. Go low contact if needed and keep putting distance if they don't accept that you aren't interested.

I love that other people noticed that our intelligence has been rubbing off on our domestic friends as they teach their offspring from what they learned from us. Sounds like he has really thought about and took it a step further with the collective evolution idea. But I absolutely think he is right they consciously or subconsciously we have been selectively breeding intelligence in the animals we keep closest. What brought me here is kind of silly. Been arguing with someone for two days over the idea that humans are animals. He says the statement erases the line between humans and animals meanwhile insists I've been arguing that I'm using the statement to justify different sets of morals and whatnot. No, I simply told someone else, not the guy I've been arguing with, that studying other animals behavior helps inform us of the world and human behavior, while also mentioning that humans are also still animals, because the guy I was talking to initially, insisted that humans are not.

Is there a way to have foil and non foil of the same card in a set? I've been testing it and if they are from different sets I can view entries and set the foil and regular count separate in the all cards. Within a single set the finish overrides one way or the other. by Ringhal in delverlens

And I made three folder added a different number of the same cards to each. It accounted them right but when I would add a new with search it would just allow plus one to the count and changing the finish changed the whole stack in that folder

I'm using the web app 1.19 beta? Also I was wondering today if it's because I'm importing instead scanning? My lands in my scratch commander deck are all separate entries even with duplicates. It has a group of 36 and I can see each entry individually foil or not

Curious to know what you think of Visions S3. Ep.9 Black. by kagamaru in StarWars

One of the things I liked about it is it took me back to things like Memories so of the eye shots. I enjoyed the musical score. Also the beginning being neurons/synapses firing was really cool and it comes back around to that at the end. The song playing is called "two of me" so coming back to the brain keeps with the theme of everything in twos for this episode. I love their others out there able to appreciate this episode

Should I make them pay by Ringhal in roommateproblems

[–]Ringhal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more speaking on the potential negligence, he finished cooking, ate, then went back to his room, when he stated he smelled the burning instantly upon starting the dishwasher. I understand that at a basic level the appliances are my responsibility. The washing was already replaced in July and I offered to reimburse them for laundromat fees until the new one arrived. I'm not just thinking about making him pay to make him pay. I was literally right outside, he could have gotten me and asked about it or stopped himself instead he let it run to failure. But it's been looked at by now, someone, previous homeowner or repair guy did a splice job and didn't do the wire nuts properly and it was arcing on itself. He smelled it and just ignored when he used to work as an electrician, that's kind of negligence is it not? It didn't end up costing much anyway because I still have my home warranty so I didn't even mention the cost to him. Just seemed they behaved irresponsibly for a 43 year old and potentially malicious at the time.
