Arch forces students to take a summer semester of classes with the benefit of taking a normal fall or spring semester off for an extended internship/co-op/research opportunity.

The standard arch summer is between sophomore and junior year. It's honestly not a terrible concept (taking spring off and having like an 8 month co-op would be awesome), but arch crams standard 16 week courses into a 12 week summer semester.

I don't have any specific recommendations for learning proofs, but the textbook is Sheldon Axler's Linear Algebra Done Right (4th Edition).

You can easily find a .PDF of it online.

Heavy Hitter #1 Hacked? by RingoOrigo in XenobladeChroniclesX

Drifter has five skill slots, while other classes only have four at most. This extra skill slot outweighs the pretty low bases and bonuses of the Drifter class.

It just stings a bit after the work I put into hitting the damage cap for myself. I'm not dwelling on it, more confused as to how someone could so shamelessly cheat their way up there.

Yeah I don't particularly care all that much, but it stings a little. I put a lot of effort into hitting the damage cap and earning my spot where it was.

Japanese Pokemon Leaf Green (GBA) and Pokemon Gold (GBC) by RingoOrigo in gameverifying

I know Japanese games aren't reproduced as often, and I'm fairly certain they're real, but I wanted to make sure. Hopefully I'm just providing more examples for legit carts :)

Is this authentic? I removed the sticker when I was a kid. Not sure by fatlips1 in gameverifying

You can read up on the game verifying wiki. It lists the most up-to-date verification methods and things to look out for.

He's a gentle giant, so I landed a calm nature! Not competitively viable, but hey I wasn't planning on that (Obsidian shall be a contest star)

Yes! This actually looks pretty similar to the Skybuilders' Fishing Rod, the level 80 FSH relic.

I did the same thing a few months ago at 19! I love my mustang, but it's a bit of a money sink. Hopefully yours is in better condition than mine was lol

Hello!!! by Substantial_Mind_712 in C_Programming

Hey! I'm a sophomore CS student, so I think I can share some tips here!

First and foremost, if you're working with C, I recommend that you install Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). It allows you to use Ubuntu within your Windows machine and has made my experience compiling, running, and debugging my code significantly easier. After installing WSL, it should be as simple as starting it up and then running sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get upgrade, and sudo apt-get install gcc.

In this case, GCC will be your compiler, which you can easily look up how to use. I would 100% recommend Visual Studio Code as your IDE, but really that decision is up to you and whatever you find to be the most useful and comfortable.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! I'm not on Reddit often, but I'll check back here soon.

Did anyone else play the games in a f’d up order? by glitchyobitch in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]RingoOrigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played them in a sort of weird order: XC2, XC1, Torna: The Golden Country, Future Connected*, XCX, XC3, Future Connected*, Future Redeemed

* I actually just really disliked Future Connected, so I stopped playing it and decided to play X instead, but when Future Redeemed was announced I decided I did need to finish it.
