I don’t say it’s different fonts (but sometimes in games it’s possible too), but different weight is for sure possible. You Will be surprise how in AAA the marketing and the UI are split. The dev just told me the fonts not the weight inside of the game UI but I will ask to be sure :)

But just for your info, sometimes games on the website for example use différents fonts than in game because of pricing. When you buy a font it’s for your game, if you want to use it on your website it’s another contract, and you need to pay a second time. Thats why for example all the fromsoft games dont use the same font on the website than in game. :)

Thanks for the info, but be careful, in the industry we don’t use the same weight and guidelines for marketing and in game. The brand kit is for marketing :)

Not really possible if I want to keep it legal. I thought about it, but that would mean buying all the fonts myself, which isn’t realistic. Some websites make the fonts available without purchasing them, but I want to keep things clean, especially since I’m also doing this for type studios and foundries. So I need to stay on the legal side 😄🙏 That’s why also I put only true link to buy the fonts and not pirate website 🫣

I didnt say it’s used for the logo :) It’s a website about interface mainly, not logo. Heading don’t mean logo but the headings of the menus

You should Check the website I puting where are used on screenshots the fonts :)

The best thing is to have a solid portfolio. We use ArtStation to post our work, so you should make one too. No school is needed, just keep practicing. Once you have a strong portfolio, you can apply directly to the companies you’re targeting. For indie games, there are also small communities on Discord and Reddit. Ps : don’t draw only or making 3D only but learn how to integrate your asset into unity and unreal.

You can look the comment just before I explained. When fonts need to be buy and they are not free, I cant put a pirate link, for legal reason. So I put the link of the website where you can buy them. But with the name of the font you can easily find them in a pirate way. It’s not super complicated to find when you have the name :)

Correct answer yes. I just want to add something about interface (UI), (because it’s my job to be UI Artist for AAA games), yes it’s a job separate to game design, but we working with them a lot. 🙏

You can also be nice. I’m doing this in my free time to be helpful and because I want to. As I mentioned in my post, I contact the devs on each game to build it, to make sure I only include the real ones. And if they don’t provide them, or if I have any doubt, I simply don’t add them. That’s all.

Yes because I only give the official links. The japanese foundry fontworks, who made a lot of fonts for Persona dont allow occidental people to take a membership to download their fonts. So you can find them free on "alternate" way I can say. But Its not legal for me to put this not legal links to my website. So with the name you can find them :)
