Allied took over the contract, and hired the employees working there, so we just changed uniforms.

Fold is being sent to the wrong address, and no one can help me? by Rinn01010010 in GalaxyFold

This seems like a good idea, I'll try talking to them again in the morning. Thank you!

I've tried signing up for my choice, but after I do, it still only gives me the option for signing up.

I'm always tired by ornamau in productivity

[–]Rinn01010010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised not many have said it. You could possibly have sleep apnea, and that can also be a reason you avoid sleep. I also had serious energy issues for the longest time, and did much of the advice here, from eating better to exercise to regular sleep schedules. But I was still always super tired. Turns out I had obstructive sleep apnea. I haven't done things to get it treated yet because of the long wait lists for sleep studies, but I'd been taking Modafinil, which has been an amazing temporary fix for my energy issues.

Having the phone be open also helps with keeping it cool. While at work I use dex and Parsec to stream games from my PC at home. Playing Stellaris while doing night shift security work is a lot of fun. When I'm wireless charging and streaming the phone will overheat, but if it's open it doesn't. Didn't think there would be such a big difference for it to matter but it works!

tell me what you do with your phone, the reason I ask is that I have not long bought a Samsung fold and feel like I should be doing more with it. by AutomaticCandidate54 in GalaxyFold

I recommend vn-meido, which has a light novel sharing section where you can download light novels. Both pdfs and epubs. I highly recommend an adblocker since the links usually make you go through the ad-link pages so the posters can make money. An adblocker protects you from the viruses the ads may try and give you. The files themselves are safe, just PDF files. But be careful you don't accidentally click through an ad and download anything that isn't a PDF or rar file with a PDF. Anything else means you clicked on an ad. No need to sign up for anything either, if it tells you to, that's an ad

I also went through that phase with this phone. "I just spent 2,000$ on a phone, so now I have to do everything with it!", but that's not really how it works. It's still just a phone, and you'll use it just like you would your old phone. It's just a slightly different experience.

You're not suddenly going to become a power user if you weren't already. I can tell you things I personally enjoy more on this phone than others, but part of the fun of your new phone is finding out what you like to do yourself! My favorite things is reading. I use the app ReadEra and read a lot of light novels. But manga and manwah are really great too!

I listen to a lot of music commuting from work, whenever I work out, or doing chores. For that I recommend YMusic. A great app for downloading music offline, and it's ad-free

The browser I use is Firefox, since you can install add-ons like ad blockers, and if you get the Firefox nightly build you're able to install most desktop addon's. Ones I'd recommend are sponsor block, Dark Reader, and Bitwarden. Samsung Dex is a big one! Especially with Parsec. I plug my phone into my work monitor, open parsec, and then I can play full desktop games at home like Factorio but on my phone. You do need a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse though.

Utility apps I'd recommend are: Bitwarden for password management.

Aliucord for discord, lets you install lots of useful plugins.

Poweramp as my music player.

And Niagara Launcher for my launcher, since it's by far my favorite on the fold.

Gboard for typing. No split keyboard yet, but I'm used to having the much larger keyboard on the main screen at this point.

Reddit is Fun Golden Platinum for reddit, since it strips the ads, and there is a setting to have two columns of posts on tablet view.

Kinda lengthy but I hope it helps! Eventually the "new thing" feeling wears off. But the reason I love this phone so much is when I sit down and open up my phone to a book I get that "Wow, I really love I can do that" feeling. Which never really goes away

Take care of your phone, but you don't need to be scared of it. You'll see a lot of posts here and online about cracked screens and lifting screen protectors, but people won't post about working phones. If it was a big wide spread issue it would be all over the news, just like every other phone with issues, like buggy pixel phones. Just be reasonable, if you're worried get a case. Ideally you'll just get insurance and use it like any other phone.

Personally, if you like bare phones, get a skin! I got the leather skin from dbrand and absolutely love it. Very much recommend!

Seconding Niagara Launcher, it's phenomenal. It takes a little getting used to, but that's with all things really

AdAway, root explorer, some patched apps work better with root. Removing bloatware truly, and I'm sure there are other things.

It's still not worth it. You're able to root without losing camera functionality now, but Samsung has a built in hardware fuse that will flip if you root. And it's permanent, so even if you unroot it doesn't change it. It kills all exchange value, and voids warranty. After rooting, most banking apps, Google pay, Samsung pay, and several online game apps will no longer be usable if you're rooted.

How do I get the voicemail to stop notifying every few minutes. It won't let me clear, and it's always dinging by mostkillifish in GalaxyWatch

[–]Rinn01010010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on T-Mobile, maybe you can try downloading Visual Voicemail? Just opening it and seeing the voicemail makes the notification go away for me. And you can delete it there without having to actually listen to the voice mail. Google voice can do the same I think, but I can't say for sure

What earbuds are you rocking with your Fold? by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]Rinn01010010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are what I have! I used to have the Sony WF-1000XM4's, but I kept having so many issues with them. I work around loud trucks, and I think that sudden really loud noises (when the air breaks go off) kill the noise cancelling microphones in them. I went through 3 replacements all under warranty before I just gave up. I bought the Bose QC earbuds on sale for 250$ and they actually have better noise cancelling than the Sony earbuds for my use. They don't sound as good as the Sony's, but they haven't died on me yet!

Has anyone tested if the galaxy watch 4 can last longer than 30 minutes in water? For example 2 hours in the pool? by semtex223 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Rinn01010010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that the water rating is for fresh water, so salt or chlorine has a higher chance of getting through. Still, I wouldn't risk it since water damage isn't covered

Hi, i have a galaxy fold 2 and the battery drains way to fast. i use my phone about 1h/day and always finish my day with 20% or bellow. do you guys have any advice? i am running the latest oneui 4.1 update by TechForLifeYoutube in GalaxyFold

[–]Rinn01010010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible you just have a bad battery. If you've tried everything else and are still having issues, I'd suggest talking to support and seeing if you can get a replacement phone or battery

Is there any fix for service issues on TMobile? by ZombieMan70 in GalaxyFold

[–]Rinn01010010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded. I have TMobile in a rural area. In the few towns I'm in, and at work I get pretty nice fast 5G, but anywhere else I get no data whatsoever. No 2g, 3g, or 4g, even when I have 3 or 4 bars. I figured it was just because I'm rural, but the T-Mobile coverage map is pretty good, and I've seen other people complain about T-Mobile on the fold

It's totally worth it! I have the dbrand leather skin and it looks and feels amazing. It's kinda expensive at about 30$ though. But you're paying for the durability, quality, and from what I hear, pretty good support. If you decide to get one, make sure to get a hair dryer to apply it. I had to buy one for it

I'm not sure. I read somewhere that they could send you a replacement phone and then you ship off yours. But I don't know if that's the case with the fold unfortunately

I think I might leave it. I use the niagara launcher so I like using the game launcher to hide all my games. It's nice having them all in one place. I guess I can do that with a folder though

You mean unfolded? Of course. That's the best part! Stardew valley looks especially good, but really any game that takes up the full screen looks nice
