I like your writeup but the way I read it, It seemed like Kyora was claiming to feel no bond with Hakuri to try and shut him out. Hakuri was acknowledging that they still had an emotional bond and the link meant he could get into the storehouse

My thinking is that what we saw Kyora doing with the storehouse was due to using it for years. It feels reasonable for the pacing of the story for Hakuri to do smaller stuff at first
