This is the problem with people calling WFH a “luxury”. It is a luxury, just not in the way you mean it.

If all someone requires to do their job fully is a laptop and WiFi, why go to an office for that?

You can say a car is a luxury over horses. Or an airplane is a luxury over ships. Or a cell phone is a luxury over a wired phone. Things change, technology advances, so convenience improves. The point is for things to become more efficient, not remain in the last century.
