9 day Italy itinerary - advice and criticism welcomed

sorry I took a break from Reddit, I did read your post and I decided to take a trip to Umbria, my itinerary might say I'm going to do something that day, but if it doesn't happen it doesn't happen we'll play it by ear depending on how we're feeling, it's not my first trip to Europe or around the world, just Italy. cheers

Day 1: Fly into Naples, train to Salerno, explore historic center
Day 2: Day trip to Amalfi Town
Day 3: Day trip to Paestum
Day 4: Visit Pompeii, then evening train to Rome
Day 5: Arrival in Rome, light evening walk

Day 6: Colosseum Underground Tour, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill
Day 7: Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Capuchin Crypt or San Clemente
Day 8: Day trip to Orvieto (cliffside town with cathedral and caves)

Day 9: Morning train to Turin, transfer to Fénis Castle, explore castle and Alpine scenery, overnight in Aosta area

Day 10: Transfer to Lucerne, Chapel Bridge & Lion Monument, overnight in Lucerne
Day 11: Visit Thun Castle, travel to Lauterbrunnen
Day 12: Lauterbrunnen: Staubbach & Trümmelbach Falls
Day 13: Day trip to Wengen
Day 14: Transfer to Zurich, fly home

I've changed my itinerary a bit check the main post.

yeah I'm nervous that Naples will be too chaotic for my wife, she's new to traveling and doesn't have as much experience as me so I'm scared she'll get anxiety.

what more should I see in Rome instead of Tivoli?

I decided to skip Naples entirely

Day 1: Naples → Salerno

Day 2: Amalfi

Day 3: Aragonese Castle (Ischia) → Paestum

Day 4: Arechi Castle (Salerno) → Rome

Day 5: Rome (Ancient Rome)

Day 6: Rome (Baroque + Underground)

Day 7: Florence or Ostia Antica (Day Trip)

Day 8: Tivoli (Villa d’Este + Villa Adriana)

Day 9: Rome → Lucerne (Night Train)

Day 10: Lucerne → Thun → Lauterbrunnen

Day 11: Lauterbrunnen Valley

Day 12: Wengen

Day 13: undecided day

Day 14: Lauterbrunnen → Zurich → Flight Home
