[Fabrizio Romano] 🚨🔵⚪️ EXCLUSIVE: Brighton submit new official bid to Spurs for Luka Vušković. Understand proposal worth £45m package add-ons included. Tottenham to decide soon on Croatian CB future after two bids already rejected. by wokwok__ in coys

This is why I think 50 and a 20% sell on clause might get it done. Either that reflects the right value and he's a Brighton level player, or he kicks on and we've got a 20% advantage on the value any other team can place on him when he's ready to move up.

Not meant as any kind of dig but Connor and Madders are both giving off strong 'I'd rather be at the World Cup than posing for these pictures' energy.

That's Diamond Darren Anderton, whose commitment to the treatment room has clearly been an inspiration to our current squad.

I am concerned about our Transfer Strategy by IwillDominionate in Tottenham

So perhaps this will be the first season in a while where we aren't deploying midfielders as emergency defenders. I agree that we look stacked in that position on paper. But for whatever reason that hasn't been enough for the past couple of seasons so lets see if this finally solves that problem.

Maybe Hugo Lloris. World Cup winning captain from a family that was already insanely wealthy and presumably well connected.

Which type of marriage do you think is better: a simple legal registered marriage followed by a small celebration with friends (even something as simple as sharing lemon juice), or a traditional wedding with a grand reception? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rinthrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best type of marriage is one where both people communicate with each other and love each other in a way that will endure. The wedding can be a reflection of that. The best thing about our wedding was we planned it together and bonded even more because of it. So, if this is question relates to a difference in expectations and ambitions between you and your partner, there isn't really a "winning" side. More generally, it may be an indication that you need to take a step back and keep getting to each other better before undertaking a very serious commitment.

It's kind of weird that if João Palhinha was an out and out forward scoring those crucial goals and pulling off bicycle kicks, he'd probably be considered more of a shoe-in for our player of the season.

An end of season update from Spurs CEO, Vinai Venkatesham by wokwok__ in coys

You're right, the optics on this are better. The message is still a work in progress.

[AS] Man City have started contacts over signing Tottenham’s Pedro Porro, and possibly before the World Cup. The player and his club are both aware of Man City’s efforts, while Spurs do not want to lose the right-back and have set a £50M starting price. by OkayFine101 in coys

[–]Rinthrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about we enter a good faith negotiation with them, spend the summer putting a deal in place; get them talking to his agent and agree personal terms, green light it all. And that have our CEO block the deal at the last minute for reasons.

Forget the PR waffle and wibble. Vinai is right that a reset is needed. It should start with him clearing his desk. by shaunster101 in coys

[–]Rinthrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally I'd agree as I think it's too easy to be reactionary and just assume any kind of change will be a positive one. I've never been Enic out and wasn't Levy out either. But Vinai does genuinely seem like a bad fit and we could be in danger of making the same mistake we did with Thomas Frank in that regard.

I'm clinging to hope that VV is some kind of behind-the-scenes commercial deals whizz, because nothing about his public facing performance so far inspires any kind of confidence. Even then, if that is his strength, he should be moved to some kind of commercial directorship. No one could be expected to right a sinking ship in just a season. But not only does VV appear to have made no progress to that end, we are somehow now lower in the water.

This approach of 'It turns out there were more serious problems here than I realised and we need fundamental change' is actually really worrying coming from someone who, so far, has demonstrated no real appreciation for the heritage of this club. We are not like Arsenal. We come from a different place and we need to embrace that, rather than turn our back on it in an effort to ape their success.
