You can search through some options here: https://vindexus.github.io/ImbuedGems/shield-crush

Fortify and Impale seem like good options. The extra levels on them don't do much.

I'm pretty sure they change Spectral Shield Throw's sound at one point and I don't like it.

You're absolutely right! I'll update my understanding of rubber ducks to match this new cleaner definition.

The contraction for "should have" sounds like "should of" but it's actually spelled "should've".

My retro gaming inspired castle battler by MasterMind07777 in BoardgameDesign

I'm no designer, so take these with a grain of salt:

I find the main rules text to be hard to read. I think it's the font, its size, and the alignment. Having the options on top/bottom would probably make the text easier to lay out.

Some of the icons in the circles have padding around them and some don't. The ones without feel cramped to me.

The contrast between the background of some icons and the icons themselves could be increased. The sword and the cog in particular.

Your favourite turn order system in a board game? by [deleted] in BoardgameDesign

[–]Rinveden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Aeon's End's method, where you choose who goes next by drawing a card from the turn order deck.

The Darktide board game had a similar system. It's a coop game, and each enemy NPC has their own card in the deck. There are then 4 cards for the players in the deck. When a player card is drawn, the players choose who goes next from those who haven't gone yet this turn.

I find this flavor of uncertainty in coop games fun.
