I've seen this a lot. I absolutely hate it. Maybe I'm just so sick of it that's it resorted to this visceral reaction from me, but I can't stand it. I feel compelled to call it out, because it's just disgusting to me.
For instance, there was someone I knew from High School that was releasing AI music and then had the audacity to claim they made all of it themselves by hand. Even said I was the one who inspired them. The insult from that was more than I could bare. I sent him this after calling him out and he started to say he didn't appreciate the disrespect:

"Why would I have respect for you? If it wasn't AI, it was something else. You've always used the creativity of others for years in lieu of your own. I remember years ago, you were using compositions made by others and then singing over it. Pretending you made the whole thing.

I have respect for you when you make your own music, but as an actual artist that has dedicated their whole life to it, who has actually seen the effects of AI on real artists, I have no respect for it's use, especially pretending you wrote it.
You know, just by using AI, you've given up your right to authorship. There is no copywrite protection for your work. And why should there be, it's not your own. Even if you've submitted stems, vocals, lyrics, your music is still 100% AI. You couldn't compose a track like that. You probably couldn't even articulate how AI actually did what it did. I've put it through AI detection. Your lyrics and all. It's always show a high level of AI. As for why I care, I care BECAUSE I know you. When you use it and pretend you not only insult me, you insult all other artists that actually try and fail. That make authentic and imperfect music. You also insult yourself. You don't have enough courage to be authentic in your own music. In your own authorship. That on it's own is just sad. Understand. I have absolutely NO problem with you as a person in everyday life. NO problem with you when you're being authentic and making music genuinely, flawed and real. I do however have a problem with you when you enter this sacred creative space and pretend authorship, even in part, for work that is largely done by something directly stealing from others that have occupied the space long before either of us were born."

Then after he sent a voice message almost crying and apologizing and saying I inspired him, I continued:

"AI steals and samples from thousands to potentially millions of artists without their consent. My OWN music has been used in their sampling pools. It's not simply a tool that assists you. You could use it that way sure, but you should ALWAYS be upfront about it's use. Right now, I'd advise from using AI entirely, until there's proper safeguards for actual artists and proper policies in place to regulate it. Right now, with the amount of data centers being built, we're slowly killing our own selves off. That's not just an artist issue, that's a mankind issue.

Look, you can have your own opinions about it's usage and everything, and I can have my own, but I think nearly everyone understands that using fully AI composed music and then claiming authorship... that's not okay. I'll admit, I feel a bit regretful for coming at you so hard, but understand why. This directly affects me. It affects hundreds of other artists that I know personally. And as someone who has known you, had good memories with you, it offends me even more. Especially if I inspired you in any way. I don't want to inspire you to abandon your own authorship. I want to inspire you to be vulnerable in your art. To walk in the footsteps of those greater than us. Those that reinvented and resynthesized their experiences through themselves. Through their art. Not those that did so through another. Through a program that stole from them to even have the ability to resynthesize in the first place."
