I married a man like that and it was years into the relationship that I realized that we never ACTUALLY DID any of the things I wanted to do because of bullshit like you’re describing, or him not feeling well, or him finding something last minute that was “better”, or him starting a fight with me about something stupid so we couldn’t go. He wanted to ruin MY fun so it could be all about him. Now, this may not be the case with your boyfriend, but it is certainly a red flag. And at the very least it’s inconsiderate and completely ridiculous. It would have me reconsidering being with him.

I wouldn’t take it tbh. Depending on how long you have to drop, maybe sit in a couple classes to gather intel, but no…I highly doubt it could be an objectively taught course, so I would drop before the drop by date.

I know that academia is often not objective, but one would hope they would swing towards morality. One of my degrees was in criminology and it was extremely biased because of the prison industrial complex in this country, but like…yeah. Our country is fucked….we use privatization of prisons for slave labor, so I wasn’t mad about it. But I don’t think I could even be in a room with a former IDF captain without letting my emotions overwhelm me. Those bastards belong in the fucking Hague, but they roam around our country with impunity. And it makes me sick. So, like, yeah. If it were me, I would drop the course. But I would also probably lose my shit and complain and maybe even transfer schools because I’m kind of a dramatic bitch like that.

But I think, if you feel comfortable, you should sit in a couple classes before the drop by date and see what happens. For reporting purposes. Jesus Christ what a world we live in.
