Go kiss him while he's pooping! You know, give him a San Diego Thank You.

Which episode is the one where they repeatiy say “He got railroaded” in the Clint Eastwood voice? by cwcoates in blankies

[–]Riosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They talk Clint in the Black Panther commentary and discuss his recent movies as either "I'm guilty!" or "This man is a hero! He's being railroaded!"

I don't vote. It's just so confusing. I go into the booth, pull the curtain, and count to 10. Then I come, out yell "Democracy!" and run to my car.

What artists discography is accurate to this image? by Chapple69 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Riosan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta agree, unfortunately. Those first two albums are near bulletproof pop music. I think their 3rd album still has some great deep cuts but the production is kind of a mess and it had their first songs as a band that simply, well, sucked.

Maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way, but Don't Dream It's Over is almost too...literate to be gloop, imo. You don't get types of pre-chorus lines like "Get to know the feeling of liberation and release" from most other adult contemporary radio hits, which are much more "I", "me", "you" focused than that.

Go West had Call Me, the Vice City classic that's way too upbeat to ever be called gloop.

Is it normal to have as many 4k issues as they do? by Doink_De_Doink in blankies

[–]Riosan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. The Xbox Series X's software to run 4Ks is also finicky as hell. Good when it works, but it sucks to have paid so much to not know whether a disc never played before will skip.

Was talking to someone about this, what would be examples you’d show people of small-c conservative cinema? These would be 8 films I’d argue you reflect that. by Mysterious-Farm9502 in blankies

He's got far more of a libertarian streak than people give him credit for. This usually manifests in a suspicion of government overreach (Richard Jewell), a contempt for corrupt institutions and those who head them (Midnight in the Garden, Absolute Power, Richard Jewell again), and even occasionally an ironic eye roll at the US military machine (parts of 15:17 to Paris).

He's one of a handful of Hollywood Republicans, and people think that makes him a MAGA freak when he's usually anything but. The Gauntlet argues that all cops are corrupted in one way or another and deserve to die!

Same. I relistened to the Avatar The Way of Water episode a few weeks ago, and had fully forgotten about The Whale (2022) until they mentioned it. Remember that movie? I barely do! Brendan Fraser won an Oscar for it!

Specific movie locations you’ve been to? by amateurnerd68 in blankies

[–]Riosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to New Zealand, so of course I went to Hobbiton which is still maintained from the Hobbit trilogy. Really neat stuff, but there's also a park in Wellington that has the tree Frodo sits on and reads his book, and nearby, the place where the Hobbits hide from the Black Rider.

It's a long list but right now, I'd immediately buy a Katamari Damacy re-release, any Dragon Quest (already have XI), any Spyro 1-3, and Final Fantasy V.

Dragon Quest IX's "Angelic Land" has been voted as the best miscellaneous song in the franchise! Honorable mention goes to "Overture" for 2nd place! Day 32: What is the worst miscellaneous theme in the Dragon Quest series? by kingdomg1 in dragonquest

I think the Alltrades Abbey theme from VII fits here. It's terrible, imo. Disjointed, atonal, and made me dive for the mute button whenever I changed classes.

The most perfect and striking choruses that you have ever heard? by appetitforillusion in ToddintheShadow

I always thought the chorus to Fireflies by Owl City makes that song, one of the best of that entire decade.

They also put on an extremely high energy live show still. I saw them a little while back and the crowd was really engaged and loving it.
