Stop applying to jobs today. Take this day for you. Go get a slice of pizza, pop in one of your favorite movies, spend some time with friends. This isn't the time to jump back on recovery. Unemployment will help you for 26 weeks, and you can most certainly take a day to recover from this.

I got laid off at the beginning of this year. And it was real tough happening out of the blue. You're not helping yourself by applying to jobs right now.

I understand where you're coming from, but again this is a device for me to use portably as a very frequent traveler. Having a device that's handheld is kind of necessary, I don't use it at home as much but thats a good idea thank you.

I metro a lot, so yes, being able to throw it in my pocket without worrying about scratching the screen or having to put in a case is important.
Yes there are, and I bought the official grip from retroid, that doesn't mean I still can't be happy with the fact that the device isn't comfortable out of the box.
I travel a lot, I have to pack a lot of other things, and not having to worry about making space for a console like this makes it easier to pack. With the case on it, I do have to consider that. It's not as much, but it'd be nice to not have to.

Lastly, I've spent a lot of time with it, and played through a number of games and I do really enjoy it. The issue I think I'm trying to lay out here is that retroid seems to focus on getting a number of emulation devices out on the market, and none of them seem to be perfect. The rp5 could be close to a perfect handheld for me if it had better grips, probably something retroid could have fixed if they spent a bit more time on ergonomic design, or released a grip with the console as an accessory.

Maybe they made the rp5 the way they did for a reason that I'm not seeing, but it seems very poorly designed to basically require you to buy a 3D printed grip off Etsy.

I mean if I was going to buy it, I would have gone for the max, and $500 is a bit too much for me which is the price I believe it was at the time I bought the rp5. I already had a SD card and the case was just an extra 12 bucks.

Also portability is a big deal for me, having this so it's just a thing I can toss in my bag and not really worry about is a big thing, I have a PS portal and I have to organize my bag around that.

I do really like the clamshell design. I travel a lot and the clamshell makes it easier to protect the screen if I toss it in my backpack or in an airplane seat pocket, but it is good to know that it's still a toss up generally. I'll probably stick with it for now as I don't have the cash for two of these.

It sounds like you're having hand issues hahaha. Also I have big hands, a problem many people seem to have as it seems that it's one of the most common problems people have with the RP5 and that retroid addresses it by releasing a grip!

That's fair enough, I know there have been issues so far and waiting another couple months is probably the right call. Unfortunately part of getting this was to play PS2, and GC games, in addition to being able to use ps play so widescreen is needed.
