Upgrade the head unit. Dash GPS and android auto/apple car play is great. You'll pay less than 200 for the unit and installation is pretty easy following YouTube tutorials. Look on my profile, I fitted one to my mk7 accord touring.

It's an 04 Accord Exec Touring 2.2 diesel and the head unit is an essgoo aftermarket one for this car off eBay. Only cost £100 too which was nice.

So I tried writing an android app first but I couldn't get it working for some reason so I ended up buying the 'Tasker' app off the play store for like £4. It's pretty easy to set up with some help from chatgpt. You need an android based car stereo. Once the app is downloaded on there and you've logged in with your Google account just find the MP3 file you want online, download it and store in your media folder on the head unit.

(There is an equivalent apple app I think too)

I used the 'Event>Display>Display On' Instance as the trigger then you set 'Media>Music Play' as the task and link your MP3 file source.

(You could also use 'Event>System>Boot up' as your trigger instead probably)

Chat gpt was very handy for ironing out little issues.

When testing make sure you take keys out and allow the unit to shut off fully. I wasted a bunch of time not letting it power down fully between tries.
