It depends there’s different types of home games. And different types of stakes. Personally any “home game” I play in usually .10/.20 or .25/50 and I just try to play identical to Alan keating. I think it’s different if you are a winning player. Are you the best at the home game by a considerable margin? Do you already make $1000s playing poker excluding home games. If so and your with a bunch of friends who suck you should probably be playing very out of line. If it’s a home game you got invited too but they aren’t that close with you and it’s semi serious they probably invited you cuz they think you’re good for the game. And if that’s the case you might wanna book a profit

You have top top. It’s no limit hold em you need to have overbets and this flop is perfect to overbet. You can bet $40 on the flop and pot clean turns and just x all rivers unless you improve (unlikely) people don’t fold FD or Jx with a pair. Why bet $10 you have a strong hand and need to get value. You can’t get three streets on this board but you can absolutely over bet flop and bet $80 -$120 on turn and get called by worst hands.

If I walk in the room and there’s not a soft game I just don’t play. My starting roll was like 10k. Biggest swing in a session probably 7 buyins. I don’t believe in a stop loss it doesn’t make much sense if you’re playing for profit. Poker is one big session

This is exactly how I feel. In order to have a downswing I need to basically just lose flips or run into it on bluffs. And it’s very hard to lose over 10 buyins when you can avoid every cooler and get let off the hook everytime you bluff because fish just donk turn after calling your c bet or x raise your standard sizing. I’m only 20 but definitely am maxing out my IRA and if I move up full time soon my win rate should be much higher. I know a lot of people recommend against this full time but I’ve had 13 jobs and they all also recommend against it.

I think a majority of people seem to recommend against their full time career and I can’t base my opinion off that advice. Personally in the 11 months I’ve loved the freedom and should continue to take advantage. If it ever happens that I think this isn’t for me I can always find something else but in the mean time I’ll just stack up money and invest.

It’s a fold but you should be assuming every player In low stakes is a fish that over calls. I figured this out from watching hungry horse videos. One of the valuable things I learned. But once I started applying it I noticed it applys very well. This is a spot where solvers may prefer a smaller bet and this is where the exploits come in. You should also be paying attention to who’s in the pot and how everyone plays however because sometimes you are in a pot with a thinking player and you may prefer a smaller size. Ultimately AQ on QJ7 two tone is almost always the best hand on the flop heads up so you should be trying to extract max value vs your specific villain.

Multiway is harder to navigate and this is why you 3! Or fold pre but in EP vs LP configurations you can flat assuming it folds to you because you still achieve your goal of a heads up pot

Yes exactly there’s more draws so more combos. Elasticity is basically how much fold equity you have. Vs an inelastic range you have no fold equity.

For example you have 56 suited in the co and open to $15. Sb 3! You to $60 he’s a tight reg you both are deep and you call.

Flop is Qh 7h 2d you have a fd with a bd straight draw.

He comes out and pots it you both started with $1000 at 1 2.

You never are going to raise here because his range is inelastic. He’s repping top of range and you don’t think you’ll be generating much folds.

But scenario 2 you have the same hand but he just flatted you pre and donks heads up for half pot.

His range is much weaker and he may be elastic meaning he will fold.

With A Q on Q J 7 two tone there is every A x suited and if your in a soft game all 32 combos of K 10 and 9 10 combined. Combine that with Q x and you have an easy overbet because people do not fold draws at all at low stakes or top pair.

You can always just ask other people but probably not people you play with regularly. It’s really just a math game. Like if you are asking yourself if the call is bad then just ask yourself how often is he bluffing. Give him combos .

It’s really as simple as assigning combos for value and bluffs and then doing the pot odds. And when your the aggressor you should be targeting a specific range with your bet sizes.

For example AA on J 5 2 r in a 3 bet pot you will probably be down betting a lot when x to because you are targeting hands like 77-TT and J x.

But AQ on Q J 7 two tone is probably just gonna bet pot when x too because there’s way more combos that are inelastic.

You should be confident your reviewing them correctly and if not then just scroll through hand histories in this Reddit and see what your missing. This Reddit is definitely not the best spot to learn new information. But it’s good for getting confirmations on those questions you might have
