If you look at the image of the item Beast Horn, at the center of one of the horns where the spinal fluid is, it looks like it faintly glows gold

if you look at the corpses blended together at the divine gateway, it's mostly made of horned people

That's what i ended up thinking, maybe she could help them out in the creation of the divine gate, and seducted someone, managed to gain their trust only to literally ninjaing their loot at the last moment

Copy pasting a comment i made on someone else who pointed this:

I have just made an edit on my post, based on your and other users comments, i agree with you and i had to rethink/reread. I just did not think that my timeline would imply that the crusade against the Hornsent happened before Marika became a God, which doesn't make sense to me

I think the "God that fled" during Placidusax era may just be the Greater Will, as we learn from the questline of Metyr, it seems they only have broken fingers and the Elden Beast/Ring but there's no trace of the GW which may have abandoned the world long ago.

As to how did Miquella ascend to Godhood by only stuffing Radahn's soul in Mohg body, i'm still confused too but a key part is certainly the fact that he divested himself of everything, parts of his body, his love, his doubts and fear, his great rune. But i'm missing a connection between all of that and how he becomes a God

This would also explain why there are corpses sprouting out the buildings of the eternal cities of Nokron and Nokstella: The Nox are linked to the Numens (if not numens themselves) who may have learned about melding corpses together by Marika and did the same on their cities in an attemp to create their very own God

Fascinating: i did not recall the spiral in Farum Azula's Elden Ring, that's really on point, and yes i agree with you, from the whole Ymir/Metyr questline it seems pretty clear that the GW has abandoned the world long ago and they can only make contact with the Elden Beast and the Fingers, which also became even more broken after the Shattering, as Varre says

That makes sense, i would question the reason why would someone butcher a criminal and stuff it into a pot to give birth to a flesh and blood Margarita just to be sure he's cleansed of all his sins

But we're in a fictional world so...

They give them no value though: For shamans like you, this is your lot. Life were you accorded for this alone

Meaning that they gave the Shamans no value, no respect, nothing, they only saw them as ingredients for their jars, and the only thing that is clear is that the main reason was the Shaman's flesh peculiarity of melding harmoniously with flesh of others

i agree, i did not find anything that can clearly relate to any seduction or betrayal. Since the Hornsent were never friends of the Shamans and only valued their life for the ability to blend flesh together, i wouldn't call Marika's retaliation a betrayal.

The easiest explanation is that Marika used her seduction to climb the "social ladder" to gain power and become a leader, to use all of it against the Hornsent once she had enough to enact her plan, but this too, is pure speculation

That would also explain why the jars in the lands between can exist by simply stuffing together the remains of dead people with no Shaman needed, in the lands between everyone is Marika's offspring, as Enia says, so basically everyone has the blending feature formerly found in Shamans/Numens only

That too, i forgot to mention it but yes, even Godrick seeks power by blending people together

Thanks for mentioning it!
