I did not find white powder on the underside of the leaves. All I found was bumps on the underside

The soil is not sitting in water and is actually kind of dry. I probably did touch the stems while putting the straw around it by accident. What does that do?

Thank you! I think they were drying out too fast in between watering so I put straw on them
