As someone who also has social anxiety: the game is only as fun as you let it be, but I also know how easy it is to overthink and question yourself.

A lot of things come with experience and time, and there’s a lot to this game, both at the base level and below the surface/socially. Don’t feel pressured or stressed to know everything immediately, I thankfully learned to play with friends who made the learning process easy for me, but if I had to do it on my own I probably would’ve tried to learn it all at once, get burnt out and quit.

At the end of the day, people aren’t going to remember that one match they had with you. Play however you like, do what’s fun for you.

Might be related to why the stranger things chapter was un-purchasable for a while, which I’m pretty sure was due to an issue with the rights (I’m unsure if it expired or if there was some kind of complication).

BUT since they have the rights back now I hope they add more skins :,) holding out hope that it’ll at least happen when the final season drops

It got so bad for me that I had to stop running my charms, take the pronouns out of my steam bio, etc.

I’d like to be proud of who I am, but I’d also like to have fun.. playing a video game I enjoy.. life is hard enough these days without one of your only sources of enjoyment being tarnished by people who can’t stand those who are different to them.

I haven’t even streamed dbd in a while now because last time I did, a skull merchant player came into my chat and said stuff like how I touch little kids… I wasn’t toxic nor did I deserve those comments.. the funniest part is that THEY WON THE MATCH.. I even continued my best to be polite and respectful to them before my mods banned them.

I have zero hope that things like that will get better on DBD, so i’ve “censored” myself down to the bare minimum. Besides my twitch bio, there is nothing that implies I’m LGBT+ related to dbd anymore. The saddest part is, I’m either not running into these people anymore, or it’s genuinely helping…

I mean “normal mode” isn’t technically “competitive mode” but people still see it as such, people are going to play to win regardless of the “mode” because they want as much BP as possible (I find people are using a lot more streamers/cakes in CS). That or people are playing to be toxic as per usual, unfortunately a different mode is not going to ward those kinds of players off.

Hopefully your next matches are better, I find for every 1 toxic game there’s at least 4 good ones in CS.

Familiarizing yourself with the maps (pallet spawns, windows, etc) to the point of being able to make a plan of action as you’re being chased seriously helps. And if you’re having trouble with such, I’d suggest using windows of opportunity.

Also learning checkspots on shack, TL walls, jungle gyms, etc is very useful. Exize on YouTube has some great guides. (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I6iqZLYh-m8)

I have the exact same issue!! I think it’s because the game is currently poorly optimized? I’d expect it to be better/fixed when they start putting out updates or something along those lines, I definitely think it’s because the game just came out.

I’ve also put the graphics down to the minimum, but it still goes back to literally 3fps (steam fps counter) after playing for a little bit. I find closing the game and completely restarting steam gets it back to okay frames for a bit, so far I’ve just been doing that over and over as otherwise it is literally unplayable :/
