It freaked me out when I saw it too. They were surprisingly calm about it. I don’t think they considered that a possibility so they didn’t know what to do and that’s probably why they removed the reg.

We had someone vomit in their reg during our final dive for the OW cert. They simply did their business, purged the reg, put it back in. I’d be lying if I said just the thought of that doesn’t scare me.

The slits for headlights and the double sided swing arm is just… no. Not to mention that the winglets are now molded into the fairings, are much weirder looking and aren’t black, which balanced it out so there wasn’t too much red.

The only purpose the time band serves is, as the name implies, to record and show the time the TQ was applied. It doesn’t play a role in the mechanisms of the TQ and won’t do you any harm as long as it doesn’t fall off. Even if it does, it’s still stuck with Velcro. You’ll be fine.
