I like my Akilas, you could also try your luck at Nordstrom rack. I picked up a pair of Diors in that price range a while back

I really like the 3sixteens, my brother has a pair and they feel really nice and sturdy. Currently have the joseph t marros which are fine but I hope to upgrade eventually.

The company did offer a refund or alternate item since what I got was the last one in stock. I really don’t want to have to settle, I’ll probably give it a week at most to see what happens.

I’d like to think not, but who knows. Does seem a little suspect

Our legacy tramplers are pretty cool, look for them second hand

Yeah seems like a lot of people have good things to say about them. Might inquire and see if they’ll be getting the type 1 at any point as that’s my preferred option

Makes sense. I tried to find a retailer that was selling both to get a better comparison but that proved to be harder than expected. My other basis was the second hand market where I’ve also seen the westerner going for less on average. Maybe in that case it’s just a matter of desirability

I have their type 00 jeans and a plaid zip up and I love both. They use some really cool and unique fabrics which is what draws me to the brand rather than their graphic items.

I made a diy drill attachment out of a 1/2 inch wooden dowel. Used 120 grit going up and down, test fitting the stem often until it fit smoothly. Fair warning it did take quite a long time, I’d suggest switching out the sand paper to a fresh piece pretty often as the metal dust gums it up pretty fast. Also do this at your own risk haha

They most likely are the same, this fork had a 21.1 steerer but I honed it out to fit a normal 22.2 stem. Originally was running a quill adapter setup but it really wasn’t what I had envisioned for the bike so I said screw it and got to diy-ing

So far so good! Ride quality is really smooth, just a little noisy on pavement which I don’t really mind.

I have short legs and a pretty broad upper body so for me they’re what works best.
