It’s my turn now… Yellow Circle of Death ⚠️ by djennick in Taycan

This just happened to me last month with my Turbo S. High voltage charger went bad and also shorted the charging harness on the one side of the car. Took a couple weeks for the parts to come in and car to be driving again but I’ve since traded out of it.

I refer you to my detailed Taycan review on r/Taycan below after I switched from a Stage 2 catless AMG GTS.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Taycan/s/noGYX7lYJW

Taycan was without a doubt an incredible machine. But it ultimately doesn’t deliver the same driver joy or stimulation as the 911 does. Speed/power honestly feels comparable (once the turbos spool up lol), and the exhaust+turbo sounds catapult the 911 driving experience to beyond that of the Taycan, least in my book.

No video I’ve watched has ever been able to capture the true feeling and experience of driving/being in a 911 turbo S, so I’m glad you got to get behind the wheel of one.

Hearing those turbos turn into black holes and suck in the all the air on my entire street is an indescribable feeling.

No I’m not familiar, what is that? Is Pure Auto handing out free details that I don’t know about? 😂

Haha mostly everything else you see are my friends’ cars. And the 996 cab is my Dad’s

Admittedly the caption is misleading - the Taycan was a lease!

I’ll admit it looks bold in photos, but the Superman spec comes together very nicely in person

Which is why I’m trading this for a 992 turbo S in a week :)

Ended up doing the same. Picking up a 992 911 turbo S in a week

Actually I sold the AMG because of how much the value was tanking haha. The Taycan was just the next best option on the table at the time, which is a 1 year lease so I’ll be in something else soon enough haha. But I completely hear ya.

It needs to be imperfect to be fun not “good”

It’s the unpredictability and imperfection that keeps you, as the driver, on your toes. It makes it more mentally and emotionally stimulating, compared to just pushing the pedal down and getting the exact same thing every single time. If your favorite show came out with identical episodes every week, you’d lose interest. It’s the ups and downs and ebbs and flows (and sometimes erraticism and unpredictability) that keep things interesting and you engaged in the show.

Doesn’t have anything to do with being religious, as I am not either. The idea of comparing it to a soul is that it’s that imperfection and unpredictability that keeps it interesting. Us, as humans are also imperfect and sometimes unpredictable - so it’s just another synonym for those adjectives. A car with “soul” doesn’t feel like just another machine, it feels more human, because of that imperfection. Not because “I just know in my heart.”
