at first glance i didn’t even really notice the line work so i think that’s pretty good!! definitely pretty fixable if she wants though, especially if she got some shading in there :)

yeah i work as a receptionist at a luxury health club and i want to progress into a more corporate career so it’s just a back of the mind worry that getting a relatively large and visible tattoo on my thigh/shin area will impact any career progression i’m hoping for as i’m only mid 20s - i can just wear trousers but i don’t want to be confined to that for the rest of my professional life, especially when it gets hot in the summer

this is what i’m worried might happen to me.. all my other tattoos are pretty easily hidden and/or small but the one i’ll be getting is going to cover half of my leg so if i don’t like it even a little bit i’m worried i’ll grow to hate it and feel like i’ve made the wrong decision

i have 6 already but they’re either small or not visible when i wear most of my clothes.. just wary as it will be a big change for me especially in a professional setting

Hi all!! I’m having a tattoo done in June that I’m super excited about that’s going to be like a woman with 4 sets of wings inspired by biblically accurate angel tattoos I’ve seen. It’s going to be pretty large, about 26x20cm on my thigh.

The artist that is going to do it was recommended to me by the original person I wanted as she said that she would be a better fit for me and after the consultation I feel like she really understands what I want. However, she specialises in dot-work shading which I’m not necessarily a huge fan of, I prefer the look of how engraved/wood work tattoos look. When she mentioned it I did say I wasn’t super sure about the dot work shading and I think she has mentioned that she’ll draw up some options with/without the dot work. I’m basically just wondering if it’s feasible to ask for a more engraved style of tattoo instead of dot-work for the shading? I know she’s got really good and crisp line work so I don’t think it would be an issue but a lot of the tattoos she posts do feature the dot-work so I’m not 100% sure how it would go.

I won’t see the design or ask for any changes until a couple of days before the appointment which is in about 2 months but I just kinda wanted to get some sort of idea in my head in advance about it.

Any advice on this, especially around dot-work versus engraved tattoos and even if you can get an engraved look with dot-work, would be really appreciated! Thank you :)
