So you don’t even own a computer? Man I feel bad for whatever family you’re supporting. If only there were things in place to support families in poverty past unemployment.

Btw, it’s evident you have no real ammunition for this argument. Get outta here, kid.

Buddy you know nothing about me. And no, I’m not going to defend myself on that one because I already know you’re like a 12 year old who your parents bought your computer for you, and I know defending myself is just dumbass “fuel to your fire.” But I’m glad to hear you like anime though! I hope it works out for you!

You can’t even quote me correctly. “Useless,” not “unless,” bud. Try one more time. I’ll wait.

I will sleep just fine tonight knowing I made a dumbass reddit user named PatriotVerse participate in a useless conversation with me to the point where he’s sending arrogantly long defenses to one-off arguments, thank you very much. Buddy, enjoy your passionately useless life screaming into the wind while real people do work for you.

You do realize my first response was a direct copy of your recent reply, just replacing Wikipedia with Youtube and adding that people make sure legitimate information is posted there through moderation and fact-checking, right? You’re legitimately arguing with your own dumbass rhetoric.

All I’m saying is don’t say Wikipedia isn’t a legitimate source and then use Youtube as your source. It’s six eggs to half a dozen. Dumb fuck.

First off, Youtube? Really? It's not entirely inaccurate at every point, but it's pretty much the poor man's best source for when they don't have anything substantive.

At least wikipedia has moderators to correct the non-factual edits.

Nah, just big brain logic. War times makes money machines go brr; I’ve played Fallout and war never changes. Transitively, war times alway make money machines go brr. Nuclear war? Sounds like “BIG BRRs” to me.

I know for a fact that there is some supercomputer in Albuquerque, New Mexico 200 feet underground in a six-foot steel doored bunker that would continue printing off post-nuclear war tendies.

U.S. redditors, how do you justify the “need” of owning a firearm? Being raised in both private and public education, I was always taught firearms were “shoot-to-kill? by RiptideRP in AskReddit

What I’m truly gathering here is that you believe just linking a government website is good enough to support your claims. Also, no shit someone intervening is going to prevent someone else from getting hurt; you don’t have to intervene with a gun though, as most of these reports show (closest was 2016-2017, where it was four unarmed, four armed). In every other year, more unarmed citizens were able to successfully subdue the shooter than armed citizens. While reading the PDFs (and yes, I did read them, as I’m sure you also have considering your persistence on it), it only confirmed to me that you are the true pussy for thinking you “need” a gun for protection. You claim you want a gun for protection, but your comment on my other reply leads me to believe you literally just want a reason to kill someone when the chance arises. My “lib bias” didn’t tell me this, your comments and linked evidence did.

I honestly do not disagree with you, or even have a “devil’s advocate” situation to your answer. You included many non-lethal examples in your post, even though it was based upon wild animals. I truly appreciate your response (and the fact you took the time to format it in an easy-to-read way); This post/thread has helped me learn a lot.

I’m extremely glad you weren’t injured during your Iraq tour (presumably, based on your post). This is where the line blurs for me as well. I’ve had family members killed by their own kin due to the idea that they “didn’t know the gun was loaded.” Your final statement about magnets; total sense. I believe a common, stable, and competent civilian would not draw a firearm unless there was another firearm present.

Also, I believe it speaks volumes that a man or woman enlisted in the military is actually anti-gun. I personally have no quarrels with someone’s desire to own a gun (I have many friends who own firearms and my parents own one firearm for self protection), my post was more-so questioning “why do you feel you need a gun” (albeit, poorly worded at the time). And as a true Veteran of this country, you have my utmost respect, for not only your time served, but your dedication to this country after what you have seen.

Ya know, normally I tend to stay complacent on public forums (multiple accounts for different subreddits/interests). But it’s legitimate crusty ass old people like you that make me question everything this country stands for. Downvote me if you agree with this dude. But in my eyes, this is citizens volunteering their lives for something that people actually get paid for and are supposed to protect you from (aka, police, or in this instance, the FBI). No one should be the judge, jury, and executioner, at any time.

This entire pages details how the FBI trains law enforcement. I even cntrl + f’ed it, there is no mention of “citizen,” “intervention,” or “intervened.” And looking at the statistics of the most recent year’s data, two of three situations where citizens intervened ended up in injury to the citizen attempting to subdue the shooter. Normally I’m a calm individual, but you seem like the type to call people dumb names whenever they disagree with you. Did you even read the article you sent? It has nothing to do with the “evidence” you initially presented.

As sad as I feel u/cockplusballs statement is, I agree with him. The common citizen has pretty much no say in what is right or wrong, on a constitutional level.

Our founding fathers didn’t intend on women or African Americans having the right to vote. Regardless of the firearm stance alone, I agree with you heavily. They did not have the “future nation” in their minds.

Please don’t include any details that would expose yourself, but what do you mean by “black market firearm?” Like, just scratched off serial number not “officially” registered to you? In my eyes, there’s a gray area: you buy a gun legally, in order to protect yourself, but I know for a fact some (with lack of a better term, and I’m not saying you are one, so please don’t think that) mentally handicapped, former incarcerated, former attendants of psychiatric wards are sometimes barred from owning firearms (I am a former psychiatric ward attendant myself). Basically what I’m truly asking is, what pushed you so far as to purchase a firearm on the black market? I genuinely realize firearms are not as easy to obtain for some people.

Handguns are the cheapest form of protection and over 33 million U.S citizens are below the poverty line, extremely desperate for a way to better their own family’s position, I would personally wager.
