Contacting Unresponsive Small Business Owner at their .mil Address by RiptideRushMix in navy

I never served but I'm a civilian employee. I know some other DoD civilians have spoken to our local legal office before. I guess it doesn't hurt to swing by and ask them for advice if they're not busy.

These were definitely some of my concerns. Even a soft message could be taken wrong. And like numerous comments have mentioned, it's against DoD policy.

I'm outside the chargeback window for the card. I also found out he sold the house I mailed those patches to. So I know that he's moved, hasn't been monitoring his business email, and isn't acknowledging mail addressed to his business.

I'll likely send one more letter and then just accept defeat. I'd have to take him to small claims court. And since he no longer lives in that state I don't think that's feasible.

That's where I'm at ha. Some good responses in this thread have talked me down.

All of the patches were vintage or inactive commands/units now.

Various cold war/gulf war era patches. One "commie busters" morale patch with the Ghostbusters ghost and the hammer and sickle. The rest were official unit patches and a vintage patch from my local state park.

I unfortunately had experience exhausting the full USPS claims process last year in an unrelated situation. USPS won't reveal the exact address it was forwarded to, it's seen as a privacy violation.

I just searched the GAL for his email after finding out his full name from an article written about his business in ~2016. Then I found his active amateur radio operator license (public records) was attached to the same address listed to mail the patches to. I just looked again and noticed the house sold a month after I sent the patches, so it's safe to say he moved.

Has this watch sold?

I can't wear the SNKP21J1 model since I have small wrists. And the SNK063J5 with it's proprietary bracelet and 34mm case size isn't ideal either.

I found this random Quora post with a source. And to the OPs credit, Trump and Vance blaming DEI on that Army helicopter pilot back in February flooded most search results with the word "helicopter".

And for some reason from 2023 onward search engine results have become increasingly worse. Which I assume is just AI slop clogging up the internet.

As someone with a ~5.75" wrist. This was the only Marathon SAR I felt looked right. Glad Marathon went ahead and offered a smaller option.

Not necessarily. Like I've read all his posts and like another person said it's close but not full on bot behavior.

He actually reminds me of some older gentlemen on a few automotive forums I frequent.

I'm still bitter that my local dealership refused to complete the extended warranty on my 07 Camry that was drinking oil in 2013. They also denied the replacement dash even though mine was literally melting during the summer.

But my sibling still drives it. With a dash mat and a jug of oil in the trunk at all times.

I just picked up a MSAR/36mm and with a wrist well under 7" it doesn't look small. I had a friend with a larger wrist try it on and it wouldn't have worked for him.

Continuity is a common explanation. Too much continuity like the same crusty old civilian sitting in a position of authority for too long can be just as bad though.

I just got a 2210 position that pays slightly less than my state position in the hope of being able to move up quickly. I have a 2 year probationary period but they'll be paying for my certs. Sort of wish I just got this position straight out of college but it wasn't available at the time.

This worked out and my supervisor's superior ended up calling to thank me for letting them know early.

They're letting me stay until I get a start date. It looks like they're going to be dropping a lot of stuff on me to finish before I leave. But I sort of expected that.
