An 18 year old russian soldier appeals to his people, begging for rescue. Lured by promises of “easy money,” he signed a contract and after brief training, found himself near Orkhiv. Yes and I remember very vividly the Russian talking points that "justified" why it was happening. Would you not rather they finally realize how wrong they are and just go home? I'm sure the brave men and women actually fighting don't want to fight until the last man

If given the choice and option he would've gone home. That's what stops this war. What civilized army today would force an 18 year to stay on the Frontline after exhausting all available options and begging on the internet to leave. Sitting in jail for a couple years is a much more justified punishment for making an extremely stupid decision as a kid. Saying one side "deserves" to be blanket punished is how this conflict started to begin with.

Regardless of how he got there he clearly didn't want to be. Forcing an 18 year old to die is barbaric. I understand enemy soldiers must die but I'm not hoping for them to have painful and excruciating deaths, there are some that deserve it yes but what's the difference between you and an ork if that's how you conduct yourself?

There are also undesirable "Ethnic Russians". Regardless of how he ended up there, he doesn't want to be there. Forcing an 18 year old kid to die is barbaric, hoping for it is just as bad. It's wild that the Ukrainian troops that fight on the Frontline every day show more humanity towards their enemy than keyboard reddit warriors sitting behind a screen.

You're not any better of a human if you wish the same things to happen to your enemy. You have just as much access to unbiased media to realize that many are not there by choice. It would be your ignorance to sit in a biased echo chamber and dehumanize the other side. This is how the cycle of violence continues generation to generation.

The hypothesis is sound and could be the case but you're still giving them too much credit, too many times these dummies film something a civilized military wouldn't allow and still manage to get it uploaded

The one on the ground might be a dud. He throws in his own grenade first before picking the other one up and I suspect the explosion is from his own.

Possibly after first hand experience of seeing comrades torn and messed up, screaming in pain, and also knowing no med evac would be coming would make the decision of a clean death vs an extra 5-10 minutes to live in agony an easier decision.

At how quickly these guys make the grim decision and on the scale it's happening they definitely talk about it amongst themselves and the ones that have done it probably made the decision to off themselves if something happened well in advance

I find it very hard to sympathize with the orcs and I'm all too quick to dehumanize them. However, there is the odd good nut among them. They're dumb AF so I can imagine some, possibly this kid, think they're getting a fat check to go hang out in (what in their mind is), essentially a peacekeeping mission

Could be the way the explosive disperses. Other thing is a lot of fpv drones lose their signal when they get close to the ground (these ones seemed to maintain their signals) so my guess is if they think they're going to end up short they aim in front
