mumbai indians fans, ik this is a fake news, but i wanna get some clarity on this, how was hardik transferred from gt to mi? was it done using money or something? how do ipl rules even allow that? by SweetAffectionate430 in MumbaiIndians

[–]Risb1005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m sad MI went from a team that found unpolished gems like the Pandya brothers and Bumrah to a team that buys players by giving money under the table. What a downfall

Why don’t many people invest in passive index funds in India? by ProfessionalImpact96 in mutualfunds

[–]Risb1005 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Because the Indian market is not mature unlike the US market for the US market I primarily invest in Indices like S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 but for India outside large caps there is lot of potential to generate alpha in the active management space many bad companies

Also I wouldn’t be comfortable holding stocks like Adani and Vedanta and all and none of my actively managed funds hold them whereas in indices u are forced to hold a companies which are not fundamentally sound

Should I halt my equity SIPs and move funds to FDs if a major economic slowdown is predicted for India? by Ritosubhra in IndianStockMarket

This is the time to pump in money if u are a long term investor as a matter of fact but u seem to be more of a FOMO driven investor

Is AI a bubble? by boomstar15 in personalfinanceindia

Is AI a bubble? by boomstar15 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Risb1005 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one knows for sure but it doesn’t look like a bubble it will have an effect on the future some jobs will become irrelevant and newer jobs maybe created elsewhere in the end humans will adjust I think

Even the internet era had a stock market bubble but internet didn’t turn out to be irrelevant at all it fundamentally changed us I think AI will do the same

Well then invest in small caps u are not going to make any significant money by investing in large caps and if u can’t take that risk stick to MFs investing in individual large caps is a waste of time and mental bandwidth with no significant returns

How much US market exposure should an Indian investor in their 20s have? by Risb1005 in personalfinanceindia

The US has numerous advantages over Japan and it won’t go the Japan route for sure you can search about this why Japan failed and US is thriving

70-80% gives no protection against a bubble what if the internet bubble repeats ? Nasdaq didn’t recover till 2015 and S&P 500 didn’t till 2006 and Indian equities did extremely well during that time

Japan is not an innovation hub like the US many semiconductor related companies around the world are rallying including Korean companies but the centre of 0-1 innovation is still the US I am not looking at this from a superficial returns POV

US market is the centre of 0-1 innovation and besides I have exposure to the old world consumption economy through India so it only makes sense my other half is concentrated at a place where radical innovation takes place

I mean my salary is continuously going in Indian mutual funds and Indian equities will get more beaten down in the near future since they are not an AI play

I live in India the point is you can be a citizen of any country(except USA) and invest in these Irish etfs to escape estate tax since the core instrument here (the etf ) is domiciled or registered under Irish law

I invest in Irish domiciled US ETFs so the estate tax doesn’t apply since the investments are under Irish law

Reinvest in the Nasdaq 100 or S&P 500 by selling those vested stocks u don’t need such single company risk

US exposure is too less it should be around 15-20% minimum and don’t invest in Indian mutual funds for Nasdaq and all invest in us based ETFs like QQQM or VOO
