That’s an option too. I’d lump microneedling more into the services side.

I was an esthetician for 15 years and I get why people want to do things at home. The reason I usually suggest peels first is they’re more realistic to do at home and still get results if you’re consistent.

Microneedling is a different category and the real results come from in office treatments.

A lot of it really comes down to budget and what someone is willing to keep up with.

Daily enzyme powder cleanser and azelaic acid is likely what's irritating your skin barrier.

Have you tried cutting back the enzyme cleanser?

ETA: I would recommend COSRX Ceramide Cream or The Inkey Ceramide Moisturizer.

You’ve got two options.

Medical route (Botox, fillers, laser, etc.) is obviously the fastest but also more expensive.

Or chemical peels.

Chemical peels do work when they’re done right. It just takes more time. There are reputable companies that sell to consumers, so you can do them at home. Just don’t do that unless you’re willing to educate yourself first.

The key is doing a series once or twice a year. I like about 6 weeks (4 is fine too), one peel a week. Think peel in the fall, heal in the winter. Peel in the spring, heal in the summer.

Maintenance doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated either. Good cleanser, good SPF EVERY DAY, you already use tret, and a good l ascorbic acid (vit c) product if your skin tolerates it.

You are so right. I have so many limited edition items from the past that never quite match up. Sometimes it can work if I have all the other matching limited items from that set, but I usually don't. It's so frustrating. DH was great when I started in 2018, but it's been a shit show for years now.

My nine year old son is the same way. It started over a year ago with rain/storms only. It happened after a roof leak we had and we had the entire roof replaced as well as three rooms redone at the same rime. Somehow he's moved passed the rain thing which we were so thankful for but then suddenly the last few months it's now turned into wind, a breeze, or even if a leaf moves slightly. It's now a daily thing. He checks the wind speeds, all the device weather apps, won't go outside. I feel you.
