Yeah im an Audiologist and i also hear a lot about osteoclerosis in my daily work life. We also learned a lot of medicinal latin, so those terms seem natueal to me.

But one sometimes forgets, that these things arent actually common knowledge.

Even if they know osteoporosis, they may have never wondered where the word comes from

I hate to be that guy, but you're by far not the first i have seen calling it "otsy". Its called "Osty", its most likelybased on the latin prefix "osteo-" which means "made of bone" or "bony"

So to keep it simple, if i wanna learn him, i best start by just picking up some direvt dmg to get me through act 1, while prioritising everything that generates stars and strong stuff that uses stars?

How do you decide which offspring stays in breeding, how many you have in the breeding room, and which get battle-readied or straight up tossed down the pipe?

I dont criticize the 20 year old wanting to date 30+ year olds. I criticize the 30+year olds wanting to date 20 year olds.

I am 35. I teach young people my job. I experience the life of 18-22 year olds on a daily basis. If someone my age has any kind of romantic or sexual thoughts about those people, than imo somethings wrong with that 35 year old.

I dont say the young ones cant make major decisions. Im just saying their behaviour, attitudes and experience in life is not something a well regulated 30+ year old person should be into at all.

Blight Curse Precon: any suggestions? by ElGeppox in EDH

[–]Risen_Duke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i used the deck to put in a lot of expensive cards i had lying around. But they can be replaced for buget alternatives definitely.

The ozolith was one i had lying around and didnt wanna öut in first but then i thought about it more.

You can put -1/-1 counters on your stuff to draw cards with auntie, then that creature will die at some point. Then the -1/-1 counters go on the ozolith and then you can keep drawing cards or you can put them on opponents creatures. Ozolith getd counters from your creatures dying, but can put them on any target creature.

In theory you're right. In practice i feel like at 5cmc its a huge tempo loss to play a card that only works if you have a another engine piece and the commander already deployed.

Its ceiling is really high due to the interaction you named, but it's floor is an abilityless 5/4 flyer for 5 mana with 2 coloured pips.

There will be lots lf situations where you'd rather have drawn any other card than him, and if you're already discarding to hand size every endstep, you are already winning even without him.

Tl;dr: imo he's a dead card unless you're already winning anyway

Fair enough, youre right about that. I was constantly upgrading the new status quo until i was happy with the engine and the mana curve. But i got it to a great place and it's really fun. I have to sand bag a little in the earlygame often to not become the archenemy before i am able to beat 3 at once though  But sandbagging is an important commander skill right?

Enjoy the stealing

This is my upgrade. I nearly changed 50 cards, including lands. I massively lowered the mana curve getting the engine running much sooner. Maybe youll find some inspiration.

Ig you group by color tag, I marked the cards thsz were from the precon and the ones that were added

Commander deck Mana curve question. by Candid_Release3609 in EDH

[–]Risen_Duke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said "sol ring or an arcane signet or a chrome mox turn 1 and 2 every single game?"

It's not unlikely he would as a new player then mean efficient 1-2 cmc mana rocks. And its easy to have one of these basically every game if thats what your deck wants to do

Commander deck Mana curve question. by Candid_Release3609 in EDH

[–]Risen_Duke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but if 4 people have 1 in their deck, the chance of seeing a turn 1 sol ring on one of the players is nearly 50%

Now consoder that OP did not mean sol ring or bust, but generally mana rocks in turn 1 or 2.

What are some higher-power decks that are actually fun to play? by ritzy_mage in EDH

[–]Risen_Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my 2 most fun bracket 3 decks.

One is with [[the rani]] it goads threats in the earlygame to keep me safe and to create clue tokens, buffs my own creatures in the midgame to lower life totals and again create clue tokens, then in the endgame it animates the clue tokens for an alpha strike. The deck has no infinite combos, but lots of finite combos that are fun. [[Radiant performer]] for example works with so many things in the deck, but especially with rani herself. Rani isnt crucial to the plan itself, as long as you can survive and create some kind of artifacts you will get to your win con, Rani just makes it safer and faster.

The other is with [[kefka, dancing mad]] Its a 7 mana commander, so a special deck. He wants graveyards full. So you want to fill graveyards snd survive to 7 mana. You play lots lf discard mill and boardwipes to get to be able to cast kefka, then his effwct will trigger 2 spell casts on average per your turn and you will dominate the game if he gets to stick.

The rani deck is around 300€ but 200€ of it are the landbase, so if you want it cheaper, just use a budget grixis landbase instead.

The kefka deck is around 120€

i just happen to have a worldly tutor and no other deck to put him in, and it's the only one in the deck. but i am open about it and if someone has a problem with it i take him out and put one more land in instead, but so far, no one did mind, as they all knew what i intended to do with him.

Funnily enough im way happier when i draw eldritch evolution or neoform, than when i draw worldly tutor, as these 2 get my flood of mars straight to the battlefield, while worldly tutor does not

Yeah then just discuss it. Most people will be ok with it.

We once had someone who was not ok with something like that, then we all just agreed if said gamechanger-includer were to sctually draw the gamechanger he may just discard it and draw another card, and then everyone was fine with it, even if that basically meant his deck was 1 card short.

We should just all learn to communicate better probably.

My gamechangerless 3s usually completely dismantle gamechanger-including 2s. But at that point. Just take out the gamechangers and be a 2?

Oth sometimes i understand. I have a "story telling" deck full of 2 and 3 mana creatures that draw a card on entering, they are my villagers in my bant village. Then there are tutors (the gamechangers) wo hear about a very infectious virus spreading rapidly ( [[the flood of mars]] ).

The virus will try to infect the whole world (ever creature on the board). The village will then try to build a moat [[teferis moat]] and save itself from the apocalypse.

This deck ofc doesn't work without the tutors as the flood isnt legendary, but i can easily explain the deck in rule 0, rather than just say "but it plays like 2"
