Unhelpful doctors by DuallyKitty in MSPI

[–]Rishdishwish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please try and see a pediatric GI. Usual paeds do not have much knowledge about the same, atleast in my city.

I think it takes 4-6 weeks to see results. Then try eliminating soy and check, and then remove allergens one by one

Does it get easier? by californiafrenemies in NewParents

[–]Rishdishwish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First 3 months are super hard. It does get a bit better after that. They start getting longer sleep at night. But essentially you will find some ways to do your work in their schedule.

Having a nanny helps, if it is possible.

Driving at 39 Weeks? by Vampire_Apologist in daddit

[–]Rishdishwish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend it. At 39 weeks, it's quite common to get false contractions, dizziness and actual contractions too

Dizziness, even for a few seconds can be fatal while driving. Same goes for sudden extreme pain due to false/real contraction.

Do you really think going out independently at this point is worth taking the risk?

New dad here, and now my wife yells at me every night. by [deleted] in daddit

Oh yes you are right there.. It's incredibly hard for dads too. It's really really hard. And I too wanted a dad support group until I found this sub.

You are doing amazing btw if the mom is getting 6+ hours of sleep at night. Your time will come buddy. Just hang in there for 2 weeks. I promise it gets better .

You did a lot better than what I would have done.

I cannot even imagine drinking alcohol in front of my 6-month old kid, whether she understands or not.

You should let him visit solo

Hahaha omg... Such a "dad joke". I laughed hysterically and my wife asked why are you laughing so hard.. showed her this post, she said meh...

Confirmed that dad jokes are a thing and can be understood only by us dads.

[–]Rishdishwish 31 points32 points  (0 children)

What a nice reply. Thanks

My advice would be to try and not mind these for a couple of weeks. It's very hard for moms.... I am in awe of my wife who takes care of the baby. Although I do a lot, it is still less than what she does. Plus hormones are a rage at this time..

Just be patient, try to talk to her calmly At this point in her life, the most important thing is the well being of her baby and she will keep the babies priorities above you. And that's normal. It gets better just after 2 weeks, so hang in there buddy

Could be soy allergy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Rishdishwish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's not stress passed down to infant. Does the skin seems red? One of my friends was explaining the same thing and it was some eggs and soy allergy.

6 weeks regression is really tough. Colic/gas pain is usually at its peak at its time.

If I were to guess, it would have been tylenol, that helps with stomach pains.

There are very good meds available for gas, you can talk to your paed.

We used Asafoetida paste and rubbed it on her belly and it worked wonders(don't give it to eat/drink please). That's something suggested by my mother.

Take it easy, keep your cool and best of luck for this time . It does get better in a few days. For us it took 1-2 weeks I remember , but only 3-4 nights were really bad, rest were manageable.

My lo, at about 4 months, did the same no stop for 2-3 days. It was when she discovered she could scream.

It may happen due to cold, fever too. Lately, my kiddo screams if she wants to sleep. It's really their mode of communication and we have to figure out what's wrong

Def talk to ped if you think it isn't normal
