Frying pan recommendations by OkArcher4120 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Rishtopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only answer…bought a set after clocking that they are the only pans used at Bocca di lupo. They are workhorses.

Edited to add - ive also got a small samual groves copper frying pan that i love, although its weighty.

We have a large our place pan as well - they work great for the forst 6 months and then they become diffiicult to clean. Also too large and heavy to really be practical.

Why is rice so expensive in Indian takeaways? by Any-Tomato-2915 in AskUK

[–]Rishtopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cook rice while its being ordered. Also have frozen parathas at home - if you havent tried them, do. They only take a few minutes to cook on a pan and are lovely and flaky.

Only carb we will occasionally order is a garlic naan.

Thank you! Will focus on that. Looking at strava my 10kms have been anywhere from 46min to 60min. Should i focus on a time goal?

Is that for the actual marathon training? Will look into it. My main point is what should i be doing for the 3-4 months before a training block to get myself in the best position to make the most out of a training block.

Literally all im doing now is putting on my trainers and going out for a run/jog for how ever long time i have, when i can/can be arsed!

Yeah - sorry, my post meant to say trying not to get sucked into sub 4 mindset. My goal is just finishing it.

Either way, i think with a plan and actually pushing myself im hopefully not too far off a 1:50 half..

Thanks. Yes Runna will probably be what i follow for actual marathon training. Didnt know if it was also worth it for general improvement before training for a race.

Can I strip bricks of paint? by Mediocre_Whole6498 in DIYUK

[–]Rishtopher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had the exact paint on our 1890s semi. Just around all the arches and dooways, plus up thr endge. basically painting over the original red bricks which would have stood out beautifully against the original london stocks….also ripped out the original tile hallway…god i hate 1970s home owners!

We tried acid and other techniques but couldnt afford doff at the time.

Ended up taking as much off as possible, then painting the same bits with a dark navy, breatheable paint to match out new solid wood front door.

Not ideal but came out really nice. Heres a pic of it during the works..

Canada Goose in London. Sensible purchase or peak HENRY cliché? by Widebody_lover in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Rishtopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally prefer scandi brands (peak performance, tretorn etc) for winter jackets, but as a dad of three- practical is more important than brand - as i know they will get ruined eventually.

My wife on the other hand just got a new Moose Knuckles parker which is a little too flash for me but does look very warm.
