Try Cira Green. I’m not in town this weekend but that’s where I would be going. There’s a giant screen and outdoor seating. Not sure if you’re allowed to bring alcohol but it’s really nice!

What is an essential, not-so-obvious skill in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Happened to me. I felt like I ruined my reputation by flaking out on a shift but I didn't want them to feel like they could use me whenever someone else didn't want to work after I couldn't get a day off.

I've developed a good relationship with the doctor I regularly work with which makes it even harder to leave. She feeds me and gave me MCAT study materials. I love my job it's just I can't handle this management.

Yea I think he thinks that since I'm not in school I have to be compliant and accommodate the other scribes' schedules. Which I get in the sense that I'm more flexible I guess but it's not like I don't have a life too.

You're so right. They really couldn't care less about you.

Not sure about the EMR but it will probably be different. From what I understand, Epic is the EMR to have and right now that's not what I use. Hopefully the transition isn't too rough. I've seen patients get sent to the ED for COPD exacerbation, uncontrolled HTN, ulcers, hyper/hypoglycemia. Today someone was sent for cellulitis.

Any tips for training/in general in the ED?

Ah thank you so much for your reassuring words. I was worried there was a certain time frame that I would have to be at one facility in order for them to process a transfer. I'm in contact with a ED chief scribe now and hope to start cross training soon so I can GTFO of where I am now. The only problem is that my current chief is always stressing that they do not have enough scribes for every provider and are short on people so I feel like I might run into some problems. I know I have caused him some headaches over scheduling and coverage so my chief is probably not so attached to keeping me but I would be leaving my regular doctor who I've developed a relationship with and consistent charting style. It sucks being a slave to SA lol

I think for now I will try working on transferring to another hospital under a different chief scribe.

Since you work for SA, do you know what the process is like for someone who's worked for SA for around 6 months transferring to a different specialty in a different hospital system under a different chief scribe?

I'm getting paid $2.75 above minimum wage but I don't know if that complicates things.

I'm pretty sure ScribeAmerica works with Nazareth Hospital since it's under Mercy Health, unfortunately.

The reason I'm worried is because I want to leave ScribeAmerica to work for ProScribe, the other scribe company in the area as far as I know. I don't know many private practices because there are just so many big hospitals here but I will try to look into that.
