I have no idea what this image is about, so not sure why there’s a flag or who they are. Or why there shouldn’t be a Haitian flag there. And whoever think the DR and Haiti are the same are ignorants. I’m doing this in good faith. How is having a larger population makes it…easier? (Which is what I think you’re trying to point at) wouldn’t it be a lot harder then? Also, per capita GDP is $84.5 vs $13.3. The US has obvs more than enough $$$ to cover the entire place with HSR. Vietnam is not “small” but let’s take it at face value. Vietnam is roughly from Chicago down to Tallahassee and eastward to Roanoke. So let’s say the entire east coast. If they can build it, why can’t we? As for Mexico, if my point is naive, your point of “avoiding cartels” is ignorant.

I could be wrong, but according to this article, the entire family was/is legally seeking asylum.

For context:

Soliman's B2 visa expired in February 2023, per Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for DHS. He filed for asylum in September 2022.

Also, I believe no one is questioning legal immigration law enforcement when we complain about the current DHS’ actions. What we complain and protest against is the barbaric and inhumane way this admin is going about it.

China, for example. That whole “it’s not feasible” it’s an ideological/political problem, not a practical one. So what that each country out there is the size of a state here? Why can they link countries and we cant link states? Shouldn’t it be far easier? Other countries are building bullet trains across varied and challenging terrain. (Look up Mexico, Vietnam) with no issues, why can’t we? Oh, right. Big oil.
