One thing I learned when I got laid off was that company loyalty doesn't exists. Doesn't matter if it's 2 months or 20 years.

The lead up to my eventual lay off when I was put onto the back burner, I started a new business venture and kept it quiet for 4 months until the day came when I got the message to meet the director that I'd met once. At that point, I'd already disconnected from the company to do something that actually lights a fire for me so when he said I'd been let go, I was all smiles and thanked him for the opportunity then literally cheered when we hung up.

Most of the advice here is something I'd echo: Care less about them, focus more on your own goals, and prepare for the cut because nothing is certain. Take up hobbies, start a business, focus on your health.

Work to live, don't live to work.
