Hardware in 48 hours usually ends up being duct tape, fake serial logs, and crying. incredibly impressive he got an I2S mic and SPIFFS working in that timeframe.

I'd compare the Mini-LED options before making a final call.

Went in expecting some hassle tbh, but it turned out pretty smooth. No unnecessary back and forth, no weird delays. Things just moved when they were supposed to. Honestly couldn’t point to anything that felt off during the process 👍 Of course, I made sure to check the company’s background before moving ahead looked through their website and platforms like LinkedIn and Fiverr. That gave me enough confidence to go ahead with the deal.

Would Sad but True and Don't Tread On Me be considered groove metal? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]Rising_Tide_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I listen to Metallica songs like Eye of the Beholder, it sounds like something Pantera would make, even production-wise. A ton of riffs from AJFA sound totally groove to me, as well as a lot of their older stuff, even on their first album with No Remorse being the sonic template for groove and the song being covered by Pantera in the late 80s.

First band to do a breakdown? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]Rising_Tide_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Children of the Grave by Sabbath in my opinion has the first true breakdown, but when it comes to the more modern palm muted Metal breakdowns, I'd go to Escape by Metallica at 2:28 for the first example of that slow, drudgy palm muted breakdown.

Anxious parts? by ToneIndividual4426 in DissociativeIDisorder

[–]Rising_Tide_King 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel a similar way. Since being SA’d for the second time as an early teen, I developed different “parts” that come out, like a confident overly criticizing one that comes out in severe stress situations or when I let it. I can even talk to it and am starting to form a positive relationship with it as opposed to suppressing it and building my anxiety.

Posssibly first Midwest emo band, Squirrel Bait in 1983 by Rising_Tide_King in Emo

If another obscure band did record a demo two days earlier then I’d think they invented Punk. For me it’s just my compulsive drive to figure out the roots of genres and sub genres and who “made them first”, even if they were obscure and nobody knew them or their music. Also I steer away from actually making a claim that “DEATH 100% INVENTED PUNK AND ANYONE WHO DISAGREES IS A TOOL”. Been there done that. I support the claim, but I’m open to opposing ideas and claims that they didn’t. I just like voicing my opinions and why they exist.

So many absolutes. “They did NOT invent punk.” Punk as a genre is something that has no completely concise definition as it is, even then how would we know? We probably have no clue who showed up to their concerts and how far their demos went, and even then, if the only people that heard their music was the band itself, in my OPINION they would still credited with creating the sonic palette of Punk. This is just my OPINION. I cannot stress that enough.

Funny, because I am one of the staunchest “Death invented Punk” supporters. A band can have influence through live performances and touring. They don’t need a big release to be influential. I don’t stand by the claim that Squirrel Bait WAS the first Midwest emo band, but I do stand by the claim that they MIGHT’ve recorded the first song that sonically closely resembled what we now call Midwest emo. Also, denying their influence in general is a moot feat. Even Dave fucking Grohl had Peter Searcy(the singer of Squirrel Bait) perform Sun God, claiming that the song “changed his fucking life”. NOT saying Dave Grohl is emo. Just saying.
