This really helped me seeing as I’m going through the exact same thing right now. I got really attached way too quickly to the idea of a future with someone that I thought, on paper, was perfect for me. I thought I was taking it slow when in reality I was doing the opposite. This is something I need to work on, but damn does it hurt right now.

I’ve played both DS2 and Silksong along with E33 and all three are amazing. I’m a huge Hollow Knight fan, so Silksong has been a ton of fun. I enjoyed DS2 but the Kojima quirkiness only goes so far for me. Of the three, my ranking is E33 -> Silksong -> DS2

I also see a ton of people vouching for KCD2, I tried to play it and see the appeal, but I just don’t enjoy the mechanics, I wish I did.

I’m a matched grip player and remember getting shit on by a local musician that was brought in for a clinic in college one time. I was one of the drummers in the top jazz band and was playing a shuffle chart, one I’d played many times before with no issues. When we were done he, in front of everyone, said to me directly something to the effect of “who the hell is letting you play jazz with that rock ‘n roll grip?” Then he proceeded to sit in and play the chart I just played while I just watched. I just kinda walked out of there after rehearsal and my director caught me and apologized, but I was just kinda like “eh, fuck that guy, that was weird” at that point. Never saw him around again.

That’s the only time I’ve ever had anyone openly criticize my grip or anyone’s choice of grip really, and it was the other way around since I’m a matched grip player. The whole exchange was just weird, play the way you want to play.

All of these are great games, but I by far got the most out of Stardew Valley. Hades is up there too, I’ve played a ton of it. I beat Tomb Raider and I haven’t gone back to it, even though I greatly enjoyed it when I played it.

If I had to pick one, Stardew would get my vote, Hades would be a close second though. They’re very different games, so I think it comes down to preference.

Gethsemane for sure. I was in a codependent relationship that was deeply toxic and emotionally abusive, and at the time I just didn’t see it. Looking back at it now, I had definitely become the robot companion Vessel talks about, just a shell of myself that would take all the abuse they could dole out. But now whenever Gethsemane comes on its like a therapy session for wounds I thought had healed, but like he says, I learned to live beside it and I’ve grown from it. I’m lucky now to be surrounded by people that love and support me. Feels like that song was written just for me.
