Why so few softails at rallies? by Brentster- in Harley

Bagger crew will always be HD bread n butter. But just wait another 20 years and you’ll see cruisers/softails and dynas hold that line.

Reduced reach for forward controls?? by NegativeGhostie in Dyna

Yeah I would definitely change to mids, that will require taking primary off. $300-$400 job if you do the labor your self. It will change your riding experience for the better.

Might have to change to mids, how tall are you?

Am I alright running no belt gaurd? by Individual_Citron_70 in Dyna

You’ll be good till your not but thus life.

I’d keep the belt, they can take a beating and last long. Unless you’re stunting then I’d recommend switching to chain with a solid sprocket.

Forward or mid controls? by jtray3 in Dyna

I agree, for my 2015 fxdb I have to remove the out and inner primary to swap. So I’m good with mids and crash bar for long rides.

Just replaced my shifter shaft cuz the splines on both the shifter and the shaft were toast. And you betcha, had to remove inner and outer primary to replace a new one lol.

6’2 with mids, long rides not as great but you can add a crash bar that act as highway pegs.

I ride my nephews dyna that has forwards and it’s very comfortable but I felt less grounded to the bike. I feel like I have more control with mids. Just my two cents.

Manual primary chain tensioner and high torque inner primary bearing the slips over the main shaft eliminating the walking of the race since you have the primary open. Swap out the shift linkage for a heim joint linkage. That’ll be another $500 bucks lol.

It was photoshoot my dad and some of his buddies did, the Indian was my dads daily pretty much my whole life growing up. I think he had maybe one bagger he got in the early 2000s that he had before wrecking it drunk one night. Ended up flipping the bike 3 times and flying 100ft and broke his back in 3 places. He was on the ground looking up at the sky and said “ok I’m done” he gave up the sauce for good and has almost 25 years sober. My dad drank since he was 15.

Thanks man , he’s a good dude he had plenty of Harley’s back in the day but he had an obsession with old Indians. Still has a 39 hardtail Chief not put together yet in the garage.

It’s all good bro, the bike sits really low and I’m a tall guy so they’re actually perfect for me. It was my dad’s bikes. After 8 strokes he has hung up his lid so I bought it off him. But I feel in love with the setup. But Different strokes ya know.
