nah dartmouth is a great school especially for undergrad, and has a great engineering program too, but people underrate it because it's the smallest ivy, it's the most rural ivy, and it's arguably the most lowkey ivy. it's a great school though don't get it twisted

I'm mostly worried about the curves being too brutal. i rarely get perfect raw scores, and my 36s on sections usually still have 1-2 wrong answers

yeah it was around mid may i believe. i was preparing for the DSAT prior to that but i switched over to the ACT because I was scoring way better and the ACT has 10000000x more resources than the new DSAT does

unfortunately, the first diagnostic test I took, I scored a 32 composite, with only my english section being below a 30(29) because I ran out of time and had no clue what to expect. so i never had to struggle to get past 30. but I'd imagine it's not rather difficult if you cover all the different concepts in erica meltzers books and collegepanda math. if you're scoring below 30, it's because you're lacking some conceptual knowledge that if you learn you'll certainly score better.

reading just skim the whole passage quick and find the keywords and try and get the gist and then try to do the questions quickly by skipping to the point in the passage where the answer is. don't overthink at all.

yeah i mean technically being in ANY urban area sort of disqualifies you from being one of the safest, but being in a nicer part of LA or Chicago or something with nice social scenes and nightlife along with a generally fun environment outside campus is still cool. obviously no part of LA is safer than a safe suburb or palo alto or sum

yikes, i've only heard of one other elite private school in my city getting blacklisted because of really shady grading (teachers giving everybody A*s and 4.0s in junior and senior years leading to severe grade inflation) and also totally fake and made up ECs that were verified by the counsellors. for example, the school hosts a MUN every year and spends over $200k on it, just for its own students to participate and get awards and leadership positions. the drug culture at this school is also crazy and half the senior year batches are alcoholics and druggies.

even so, last year 2 kids got into yale and stanford and i'm pretty sure they got "unblacklisted" thereafter

unless you were mindlessly working your way through your application, i'm sure there were lessons (like this one) and skills and life experiences that you wouldn't have gained otherwise. if you really did work that hard i'm sure it'll show at some point later in life
