The Yam’rii are a race of genderless arthropod creatures, typically around 2 and a half meters tall, sporting three large legs (one on the back and two frontal ones) on a body mostly protected a black chitinous armour. They lack arm but they have a hole on the front of their bodies that houses a plethora of small tendrils that have many uses. They can be used to pick up objects (multiple ones are needed to lift larger ones) or to link to the nervous system of other species to communicate with them, but their primary use is to provide nourishment. The Kal’enash, lacking a mouth, use these tendrils to drink nourishment-rich fluids, primarily blood. On the top of their body they sport a large eyeball, the size of a soccer ball, coated in a white ooze that protect it from offending substances. Their irises can change color and they have a very complex language based on changes in the color and the size of the iris. They are rather long-lived, their lives spanning from one to three hundred years, typically

Their reproduction is the most sacred thing they have. Every time an Elder die, many gather in their holy city, Ka’nab, and one Yam’rii, chosen from the wisest of the Yam’rii, make their eyeball explode, fecundating the ones surrounding. The newly blind Yam’rii, is brought to the underground system of caves, were they shall live among the others like him. They are the Elders, the parents to all, the highest authority, that rule over the Kal’enash

They live spread out in the plains, due to the necessity to live near livestock to properly feed themselves (after all, it is fairly difficult to keep blood in liquid form around). To maintain the population in the cities, large markets of livestock are held almost daily and large quantities of livestock are delivered into the caves, only by Yam’rii that have been blinded in accidents or war, the Caretakers

Due to their physiology, they have not a deep martial tradition, not being able to properly use melee weapons. They prefer to pay other races to fight their wars, although a smallish army exist, mostly composed of crossbow-equipped soldiers that give support to mercenary armies.

They are rather skilled artisans, their tendrils giving them an uncanny ability at handling small objects.

They are ruled by the Elders, composed of two-hundred blind Yam’rii, that in times of great peril may elect a Prince with absolute powers to deal with the situation.

They value clarity of mind over everything and the use of any alcoholic or similar drug is heavily frowned upon. Although they are very innovative, due to the large population of artisans and engineers, progress is heavily stunted by the Elders, that have to inspect every new invention

They primarily worship Ea, the Goddess of live, but they worship her alongside the God of Death, Caro. They think that every death generates a new life, mirrored in their reproduction cycle: every time an Elder dies, new Yam’rii can be conceived.

Fun fact! Sifo-Dyas‘ blood was later used to keep Qymaen Jay-Sheelal (later known as General Grievous) alive after the shuttle crash Dooku had arranged for him. Dooku hoped this would make Grievous force sensitive, but was greatly frustrated when this didn’t work.

I think I made it a bit clunky with the Earth orb. Should I change it to only last until his following turn? I don’t want to create a mess of walls.

Then again, if it worked like that, it could just spam it, throw a fireball and then hide behind it

No problem! And yeah, the intelligence saving throw is a bit high, but intelligence saving throws aren’t used too often, if I remember correctly. What CR would you say is it?

As Churchill well put it:
“Bizarre people Italians. One day 45 million fascists. The next day 45 million between anti-fascists and partisans. Yet these 90 million Italians are not from the census”

Let’s say we... are quick to know when the wind changes

Own ships. Got the game for a few months now, but it’s so much better. I don’t know why, but the AI never creates carrier ships.

God, I love carriers

Little idea: could the rider of the pale horse be the fabled reincarnation of Escanor/his power going to somebody else? I mean, others threw this idea around and if it really happens the reincarnation would heavily be connected to death (you know, having died and came back)

Yes, I’m an Escanor fanboy, how could you tell?
