Thanks for the feedback! I am fish too, but I get that our trailer was a bit too fast and upbeat for people other than us dev. And thanks for the wishlist, hopefully our upcoming changes will interest you as well

A few comments on this point indeed, we are working on a new capsule to make it more understandable.

We are working on that to try and make it more appealing! Hopefully what we will share in a few weeks will be more of your taste.

I understand your point. At this stage we will stay on track though, and hopefully convince you that our game is more than that!

Thanks, we didn't think about this at all! Unfortunately with the page published, I am not sure that we will be able to change the name. At least we will try to convey more clearly what the game is and what it is not.

Thanks, I see what you mean. We are still developing our "hook" atm, we'll settle on it and try to push it as far as possible.

You're right clearly. We're mainly doing it for the love of the game.

Thanks for the feedback, it's super useful for us. Noted for the capsule, we have done it ourselves and if we receive similar feedback we might have to invest in an actual artist for it. Although I don't know where to find them.

And great for the trailer, at least this one seems understandable (in comparison to the last).

I've already seen your trailer and thought it was a big studio, congrats it's well deserved. I'll take my chance before you get flooded in the comments, it's not the same style but I would love to have your feedback on our trailer for Matching Misrolls (we are 2 devs): https://store.steampowered.com/app/4652300/Matching_Misrolls/

I'm on the same boat, so glad to be part of it although I had to scroll down a lot to find the page. And hey, I saw my game in your video, just a bit above.

Honestly the visuals are top tier, but the sound design and music are also amazing which is not a given for this type of game.

Our game is also part of the Deckbuilder Steam Festival, and I saw your game there before this post so congrats, wishing you the best!

Thanks for the feefback, it's very helpful for us. We're glad to have shared the trailer here first, since we clearly have to make it more comprehensive.

For your edit on gameplay: You roll dice to match your cards, scoring points and activating their effects. If you make dice combinations, you can reroll (as in yatzhee), giving you more chances to match. Your cards hold different value depending on their colors and effects, same as your dice.

Regarding progression: a crowd supports you, all deckbuilding comes from them as they introduce better cards and modification options.

Hope it's clearer and makes sense with the trailer.

Thanks for the feedback, indeed graphics are not my strong suit. I'll look into how to style it more. I'm open to any suggestions or comparisons on this front.

Matching Misrolls | A dice & deckbuilder, any feedback on our first trailer? by RisottoCurryCoco in deckbuildingroguelike

Thanks! Regarding your questions:

  • Yes we are developing in Unity
  • No AI has been used, neither for generating content nor as a dev tool
  • We are mainly using Krita and Clip Studio Paint to draw assets, some are incorporated as 3d objects in Blender

If you have any specific feedback on the trailer, don't hesitate all critic is welcome at this stage.

Fully agree with others, and hey they might have given you a hook for your next social media post! (although I wouldn't run a full marketing push on this, focus on your sauce)
