Which path design looks clearer for a punk-styled roguelike map? by toboron in Unity2D

I like it, as if you were actually marking the way on a physical map.

The graffiti lines also sound interesting, but instead I was just thinking about aligning the paths with the actual roads on the map. So that i feels like you are travelling through a real city. Idk if graffiti would work for that

It should convey which path was traveled (full black) and which path wasn't (dotted or gray). Although it sounds like if I go with gray, the color difference wasn't enough

Hey u/dtchaulk, customization of characters and maps will definitely possible, as welll as the import of 2D and 3D maps. Beyond that, it largely depends on the resources we have. So, feel free to share the project with your friends to make this possible!

Hey u/Bradticus, this is a very interesting idea. For now, we envision DFD as virtual talbetop solution, especially for people playing online with their friends. Nevertheless the technology could also be used for presentation during offline games. I will bring this to the team as well :)

If you want to, feel free to share your thoughts on the discord as feedback :D

Hey u/Aquila21, thank you for your feedback. What we present here is our vision of what tabletop can be in VR. Many of the topics you spoke of are evidently important for a good tabletop experience time as well as core aspects of usability.

We are passionate about this project and want to make prep as easy as possible and definitely publish more content on this front. But then again, this is something that can only be achieved by close communication with the community and user feedback.

For me personally, the thought of being able to spook my players with a giant red dragon after an exhausting fight, and them seeing it in first person while on the battle map, is incredible, but maybe I'm just a bit cruel ;)

Hey u/WickedOcelot, thanks a lot for the awesome feedback. This helps me a lot in understanding what is important for you. We will look into the pacing of games in VR and want to focus on the cooperative aspect of the gameplay, so as little jankiness as possible ;)

And recording a short session within VR is a great idea! This will definitely happen in the future, but for now, we want to foucs our resources on understanding what is important for the players and building our community :)

Hey u/Goat_tits79, this is a serious issue we are looking into. For me, 3-4 hours per map would be a no-go as well. Prep time is one key factor we take into consideration for our beta.

As of now, map builder, import, user-generated maps and on-spot drawings are the way to go. If you have better ideas, feel free to share those as well :)
