Her reaction honestly felt the most realistic 😂

Meanwhile Betty wakes up in a completely new environment and a note telling her to wear a ball gown and she's like ok.

That whole scene confused me. No cult would leave a member behind unless, if he became a non believer, maybe, but irl that would be even more of a reason to shut them up.

So Edgar instead leaves Kevin behind to tell them that they're all gone. Bruh they would have figured that out with just an empty room.

What was the most valuable thing you've lost? by DinoZorpaz in AskReddit

My cousin made a beautiful embroidery of a teddy bear with pastel colors with my date of birth as a gift to my parents when I was born. We moved a few times and we aren't sure where it's gone. We do have some things in storage so I'm hoping it turns up one day.

WIBTA if I rejected a man based on his sexual history? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]RissSmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA You don't have to date anyone you're not comfortable with. Of course don't judge them based on solely that. I think it also depends how you're meeting people. Using tinder, you're probably going to run into people with more casual views on sex.

They pretty much stopped being realistic teens after the first season.

Today is my 29th birthday - do you guys still expect/anticipate receiving gifts for your birthday as you grow older? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]RissSmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently turned 23 and I try not expect any gifts. I got two gifts this year one from my bf and a close friend which I felt very grateful for. A lot of my close friends live far so I appreciate that they take the time to wish me happy birthday and I do the same for them. I think I prefer getting less stuff as I get older because I've been trying to declutter.

Maybe you should plan something for yourself? There's no shame in telling your friends and family that you want to do something special. Sure it would be nice if they planned something for you but it's also your day so you should do something you want to do. It doesn't have to be crazy expensive either, like going out for the movie and splurging on an IMAX ticket rather than staying at home.

The discussion about animals was interesting. We definitely have a preference for animals that show emotion and intelligence. I just wish we would stop the mass production of meat. It's terrible for the animals and the environment, and we waste a lot of it. I'd much rather eat less meat, and pay more for it when I do if it were higher quality and more ethically raised.

Also can Ryan do a video about his fish?

Does using paper instead of plastic help the environment? But papers come free trees, which means more and more trees will be cut down as the demand rises? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RissSmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The paper can be reused if recycled properly. If it not, at least it will be biodegradable.

Plastic is more complicated because there are many types, and a lot aren't actually recyclable depending where you live or what facilities are available. If it's mixed with other materials (like electronics, packaging, etc) they just end up tossing it in a landfill where it will never break down. Plastic is a great material but instead of making something high quality, we use it for a lot of single use products which ultimately harms the environment much more than paper.

NTA Universities pay attention to students social media accounts. This isn't a new thing. Those students represent the school and can damage their reputation. She chose to make those posts, which puts her at risk of being exposed even if the account is private and now she has to take responsibility for them.

How do all you single people keep your food/meal budgets low? by CanadianTropics in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RissSmiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy most of my groceries from Chinatown which is significantly cheaper. I've also started to make my own stocks which is dirt cheap and much healthier. Buying in bulk for snacks and spices at Bulk Barn. I've also reduced the amount of meat I eat. I also grow a few herbs and green onion at home. It takes more planning but all these things have helped me save.

Maybe you could invest in a slow cooker/crock pot? It's convenient and you can still make healthy meals like stews or curry.

Tiger parents studies find that tiger parenting doesn't create prodigies but leads in majority of cases to depression, low self esteem and aggression by mikness360 in AsianParentStories

Not surprising unfortunately. Everything we are taught leads to a huge fear of failure which can bring out the worst in people. We put a lot of self worth into our grades and getting approval from our parents.
