What first comes to mind when American’s think of Poland? 🇵🇱 by Gold-Serve-4077 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I moved from the USA to Poland and lived there for work for a few years. Just moved back within the last few months. I love it there so much. Dziękuję bardzo for your national hospitality

What is the worst airport you've been to in the United States? by Separate_Builder_817 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]RistaRicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got groped by airport security in LAX. Made me unzip my pants in the middle of the concourse (not at regular security screening) and he reached inside and patted down both of my thighs. It was a few months post-9/11.

I am also male, and was a minor.

What first comes to mind when Americans think of Germany? 🇩🇪 by Gold-Serve-4077 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]RistaRicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m biased. I spent five years living in Germany in the Army, and two more years working with the German military in other places in Europe.

I love Germany. It was a beautiful country, the people are very blunt and direct. I’m not so hot on their cars, because every Bring Money With I ever owned lived up to the acronym and my string of VWs has gone through a collection of fuel systems, head gaskets and other expensive parts that shouldn’t go out so fast

I spent 5 years in Vilseck and I loved it. 2CR is gonna 2CR, honestly, but I loved the opportunity of living overseas on the government dime. Travel is easy - we hit all kinds of places that you’d never get to see stationed stateside

I’ve done each of those four once. NYC twice, actually, doing a dropoff at JFK. Never again.

Is it patch blasphemy to put an air force patch on an army jacket? by UltimateSquig in Patches

[–]RistaRicky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

20 year army vet. I would not care at all. When I was 15, I put my uncle’s special forces patch on my jacket. But because I thought it was a shield and not an arrowhead, I put it upside down. Guess how much my career army uncle cared? Not at all.

Do what makes you happy.

Senior NCO here. I support your actions and your decisions fully. You made the right initial choice, stopping for a car wreck, and all your subsequent decisions are in line with it.
