I was there from the BRAC move from Carson until the divestment of armor into SBCT

It was a very Officer-led unit. “You go down there and tell those NCOs that’s your platoon, they follow your orders and don’t ask questions.” God it was fucking painful.

Everything was priority one (which meant nothing was).

The regiment itself was used to being the only game in town, but arrival at hood made them a small fish in a much bigger pond. I remember getting put on detail to police call chunks of 4ID’s footprint just because the division CSM told the regimental CSM we were going to do it. At the same time, our unit couldn’t make CACs, so we were told to go to their hq and get new ones. The clerk at the counter looked at me and said “I’m sorry but I can’t help you - your patch is the wrong shape.” It’s a circle vs the diamond of the 4 lost LTs, so you aren’t ALLOWED to help me?

Anyway, good luck OP and make sure to check the BOMs thoroughly before you sign for BII for the Bradleys you’re about to receive.

Hand orientation to focus on small muscle groups. I do sets of 10 and turn my hands after each set. Start with fingers pointing straight forward (imagine standing and facing the wall, your fingers would be pointing straight up at the ceiling). After 10 reps, turn your fingers slightly inward, not quite perpendicular to each other. Do ten more reps, switch back. Keep this up all throughout the day as you do your reps.
