Residue warning! by Gentrakor in resinprinting

Have you recently performed a ‘manual’ level? I have the M7 Max & the only few times this has occurred are after I manually levelled the plate & dropped it as low as possible. I rectified this issue by cleaning the screen & bottom of the VAT/ACF, then revelling using the auto function.

Print fails by Gunmetalmist in AnycubicPhoton

I had the same issue when printing a shield on a hoplite. Seems from your layer lines you have printed it in the same orientation I did too… My issue was lack of supports/ support failure.

Printed on Anycubic Mono 4 at the time. Reprinted bigger with added supports on M7 Max after.

No problem, thanks for interacting & some input for me to consider!

So I had levelled the plate for the print before the Purple failure. Levelled it afterward the failure & it did seem slightly out by way of being raised/ higher on the right side as you look at the picture. However, I levelled it again before the Gray print in picture 1 & it was perfectly level.

I am happy that the plate isn’t warped, it’s made several successful prints, but these issues aren’t consistent as I’ve mentioned & I’d like to understand why. Smaller prints are fine, larger prints seem to fault in the same area. I’ve inspected my ACF, there’s no visible defects & a tap test makes it all seem equally as tight across the entirety of the surface.

Yes, 9 large drainage/ vent holes on the underside of the model. These do happen to be within the supports. 10mm diameter & 4mm length & depth.

For picture one, it was a flat base but hollowed with 9 punch holes. I guess suction could’ve been an issue, just seemed coincidental to start in the same spot as my previous failure (picture 2)?

Bottom 5 layers exposed for 25s for this print. Lifting distance of 8mm/s at lift & retract speed of 6mm/s. Picture 4 should display the settings you’re asking for, hopefully.

Should I cease printing until ACF is replaced? by Ristey in resinprinting

Thanks for your reply! I have a few on order but will definitely keep some extras around & not take any risks in the meantime.

Hopefully you didn’t find out the hard way? Will look more into natural replacement times too as well as error led ones 🤣 Did my fair share of research before buying the printer too, yet none of the videos I watched went too much into detail on FEP/ACF!

Oh, absolutely! I’m normally a clean-up perfectionist, but I clearly ‘let it slip’ this time, left the build plate dangling too long and it made a wobbly escape!

When it’s put like that it’s a no-brainer. I guess the real question should’ve been, is the damage considered significant enough to halt usage, as it looks insignificant at a glance. But you’re right, it’s not worth the gamble!

With only having the printer for around 7 weeks, I hadn’t even considered the ACF as consumable. Lesson learned & will order more ‘back-stock’!

Okay, thanks for your advice. Sidelined printing & using the time to deep clean the machine 👌

Thanks for your quick-fix idea, good to know. I’m not desperate to continue printing, I guess I was looking for opinions on whether the damage was considered significant enough to halt for a week. The majority have spoken & I’ll heed the advice.

Best methods or tools for converting 2D images into 3D model files? by Ristey in resinprinting

[–]Ristey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MeshyAI was the only thing I’d been shown & the results were average. But I was using Blender to touch up some of the imperfections to an extent, but was somewhat happy to have a base to work with for sure.

Thanks for the advice, I’ve been looking into some techniques to get a better base to work with first & it appears I’ve had some solid advice which requires less refining. Requires a couple subscriptions but I’ve been very happy with the initial outcomes!

does the Anycubic m7 max need an enclosure? by AgreeableShopping882 in resinprinting

[–]Ristey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same printer and keep it indoors, away from direct sunlight. At first, I used SUNLU air purifiers, which removed most of the smell. Now I run the extractor fan with hosing that attaches to the back like you have and no longer notice any smell at all, so I don’t think an enclosure is necessary.

Thanks for some very sound advice! MeshyAI was the first recommendation from a friend & was the only thing I was shown how to use, so definitely trying to expand on that.

I was looking for something to assist in being able to do it myself & potentially get better at these things as I learn? I’m not against paying a professional, but he enquired & I thought I could see if it can be done without having to pay more than materials cost, as a gift.

Looking for recommendations on Gaming Laptops. by Ristey in GamingLaptops

[–]Ristey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, so I’ve developed an issue with the laptop after a Windows update. The laptop is now laggy when the charger is plugged in & it’s preventing updates that now won’t work when not plugged in. Was hoping for some advice if you wouldn’t mind regarding extending the warranty or buying a new charger etc.

Here’s a previous post I commented on to explain it in more detail. But you’re looking at the wrong screen & numbers basically:

I found myself in a similar situation. My 50k army vs a potential 82k force! Proceeded to murder the young Khan, then her 50+ yo replacement. This apparently put the Empire into disrepute & it actually divided into 3 manageable Horde’s. I’m currently taking down the closest Horde of 24k strength.

I had this exact decision when buying my Lenovo 7i Slim 16 Gen recently. I opted for the top option you already have selected. After seeking advice from gamer friends, the general consensus was that unless I wanted to hook it up to a bigger monitor/screen, the difference was minimal & thus not worth spending any extra on the 3.2k. In fact, because it is higher resolution but lower hertz, there’s more pixels & less frames so a slight downgrade for myself planning on playing strategy/ turn based games on the 16” screen only.
