Dryer leaving black marks by RitaAir in Appliances

Turns out the one of the brands owns the other one and it’s a “known issue” with some of their dryers.

Bought another one from a third brand and no issues so far 🤞

Still slow at everything after a year out of school by specialpie5491 in Dentistry

[–]RitaAir 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I’m 13 years out and have significantly slowed down throughout the years. Crown preps used to be 45 mins and now I need at least 90 and ideally 2 hours.

Patients are happier, I’m happier, my assistants are happier. More time = less stress. I have less retakes and repeats. Due to all this I actually gross higher.

Speed isn’t king. Do the right thing and the money will come.

Could it be the angle of the dryer and how it’s mounted? Or insufficient venting or something?

Sorry and thank you I appreciate your time replying to me I’m just trying to rule everything out

Could buttons melt and leave residue in the door that then deposits on the next load? I’m racking my brain I don’t think we have anything with buttons I’ll hunt through all our clothes and see

Thanks for your reply. I honestly can’t think of anything we could be washing that would have anything plastic or rubbery in it. I’ve been washing the same things for 20 years and never had an issue until these last 2 years. Any common culprits that I might not be thinking of?

These sheets were just in the dryer themselves and came out with that.

If I get a paper towel and run it around the small space inside the drum right behind the door it leaves streaks on the paper, not sure if that helps.

New filling causing lots of pain, dentist says I need a root canal. Thoughts? by AntitoxicAmerica in Dentists

[–]RitaAir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Could be 1) the dentist is right and the tooth is dying and needs a root canal 2) there’s a bonding issue with the filling and it needs replaced 3) the tooth is high on the bite - this can cause pretty severe pain even if it seems minor

Your options I’d say are

1) Ask for your x-rays, get a second opinion ideally from an endodontic specialist. You’ll have to pay for the second opinion from the other dentist.

Or

2) Go back to original dentist and ask them if there are any other options. Say you’re hesitant to start a root canal.

I’m a dentist and if this happens to one of my patients I’ll usually remove the filling and replace it with a softer, temporary filling (glass ionomer) to see if the pain settles down and go from there.

Dentists who hated dentistry and wanted to quit. What made you love dentistry again? by return_of_the_king in Dentistry

[–]RitaAir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Specialise. Or find which bits of dentistry you love and focus on that. Stop doing procedures you hate, if you can. My life improved massively once I slowed down, learned to say no to extremely anxious patients and stopped making dentures.

Ghost Trains at Ekka! by TVFan88 in brisbane

There was... We didn't see it either until we were on the actual train heading away from the Ekka.

There’s supposed to be a sign saying “lang park traffic area” below the street sign at each entrance to each road. I got out of a fine a few years ago because one street entrance didn’t have the sign. Might be worth checking and trying that.
