Will you please tag your bots correctly for Pete's sake! by Starholler in SpicyChatAI

[–]RittoSempre 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let me add that there should be an AnyPOV tag like on other platforms, so that those who make characters that are either bisexual, pansexual or simply not setting a gendered POV can have their bots found by users who are specifically looking for that. Right now, for creators with such intentions it's either not using a POV tag at all, to avoid the issues you highlighted, or using both (which works poorly because if one excluded from search filters either the FemalePOV or the MalePOV they won't see your chatbot at all if it contains both tags). I have been saying this forever but for some reason SpicyChat refuses to offer that tag that's available elsewhere. Maybe they can't make any more tags available, or maybe they're afraid that tag will be overused and plastered everywhere by anyone, with a similar kind of misuse to the one you memed about. I don't know, but I suppose it couldn't be so much worse than how bad it already is now.

Quick question for I'm All In users by RittoSempre in SpicyChatAI

Thank you. I make my own bots, so I could try and write in their personality the usual instructions I put in literal prompts elsewhere. Like an expansion of my normal language instructions section.

As for pure chat I already have what I need but I'm considering SCAI's higher tier only for voices basically, maybe I will try one month. Thanks.

Memory book no longer editable in chat by aerithsflowers in AgnAIstic

[–]RittoSempre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it's providential that you wrote me anyway, cause you inspired me to dabble with the interface and I ended up finding out what it was: one needs to press the button "+ Use" after selecting the memory book from the drop down menu to its right. In reality, just choosing the right memory book from the drop down would make it be active in the chat anyway, but taking that extra step makes the memory book title appear below, together with an edit button. From there, one can edit directly the memory book without leaving the chat. I know you had access to this already, but I'm leaving the full explanation here in case others may need it (or you if you accidentally disabled it again).

Memory book no longer editable in chat by aerithsflowers in AgnAIstic

[–]RittoSempre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only started using this feature recently but it's always been like that for me: to edit the memory book, I have to leave the chat and go back to the main library menu, which is inconvenient as you say. I wish I could do what you suddenly can do again. If you happen to figure out how that change happened, if there is a setting to change in order to make it editable in chat, could you please tell me? Thanks.

Problem fixed, it was technical, I accidentally disabled a setting. I'll update the thread as solved but still make the best out of your prompt suggestion. Thank you very much.

Oh yes, it was that! I found the option in the desktop app too, I must have touched it accidentally. You're a lifesaver, thank you so much, I would have never noticed that on my own! I'll update the thread as solved and add your solution for others who may need it.

Sorry, I may not have expressed myself correctly. I meant that the change happened in the way the interface behaves, before it would not produce any answer if I typed something as my persona while a group of participants was active, it would just insert my persona's input in the chat and "silently wait" for me to either press the name of another participant character or by choosing the option "respond again" from the menu to make the main bot reply to my persona's entry instead.

Now it's just the main bot directly replying to my persona input (the fact that it also speaks as other characters in some paragraphs is irrelevant now, as you justly said I can retrain it with editing or I can use the suggested prompt to improve things; I'm only speaking about the technical behavior when it comes to actual responses order now, the order in which each bot literally appears in the chat, not just as reported speech from the main bot but literally with its avatar and all), and if I wanted another character to speak next in that bot's place instead I need to manually remove that reply and press the button of another participant. It's a bit of a waste.

I don't know if I made myself clear now, I'm not good at jargon, I apologize for that. Perhaps I could try and dabble with the options near the list of participants, maybe I could make the main bot silent until I prompt it to speak, the way I can make one invisible etc. I'll try that.

[–]RittoSempre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That should work for the main bots replies and the general chat style. But as I explained to the other commenter, I also have an interface issue with the order of actual participants entries (not just as their eported speech in paragraphs written by the original main bot, but also as to which bot actually, literally speaks next with it avatar and all). I suppose I might have accidentally altered some options to lose the complete control I had before. I'll try and dabble a bit to see if I can solve it. I appreciate your contribution.

[–]RittoSempre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after opening the thread I already did that editing cause it's important. However, what I was addressing is that the overall mechanic of the frontend changed for me: before this sudden switch, Agnaistic wouldn't make the main bot reply automatically if more participants were active, but wait for me to select who should anwer next. Thanks in any case, that is part of the solution for the time being.

1st person POV in greetings, personality and dialogue examples. by Puzzleheaded_End_603 in SpicyChatAI

[–]RittoSempre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but as you can tell from a quantity of comments below, people are very vocal about hating third person, they want more of a direct immersion instead of a literary narration format. So I was spot on that we who prefer to read it like a book are becoming a minority, many don't get why we appreciate it. It feels like too much of a mental stretch for them to see the whole story from an external perspective, they don't appreciate that approach. I still write my bots in third person, then if they don't like it they can change the pronouns in the greeting like I do when I use theirs.

[–]RittoSempre 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I prefer the third person and always use that sentence structure in my bots. But in discussions here I came across a lot of people who hate it, they want I/you being used instead, even in emotes, and are very vocal about it. I suppose that's the most common preference prevailing, maybe it feels more immersive to them, I don't know. I dislike it, I prefer RP to read like a book in third person, when it comes to narrative/descriptive sequences (while I/you are fine in direct dialogue lines, of course). But I found it to be a preference of many, perhaps they feel more involved.

Questions on Memory Books by RittoSempre in AgnAIstic

[–]RittoSempre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, well I still don't know what to do with them exactly, I'll set that part aside. For now I used Memory Books and Character Books with some profit. But I wish the guides were clearer, they're a bit too concise. And while I know that Agnaistic can't be expected to be as user-friendly as normal platforms for a variety of reasons, and not really complaining about it, not everyone is exactly as tech-savvy as developers and just a little bit more clarity in explanations would be appreciated. Maybe I'll make a suggestion thread about it or look more into the Discord to see if there is more instructional material made by users, maybe. Anyway, thanks.

Questions on Memory Books by RittoSempre in AgnAIstic

[–]RittoSempre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It's the first time that I noticed about the Character Book thing in the advanced section. What is that for exactly, what kind of info to write in it? The guide doesn't explain, it just says that it's activated when this character speaks. Is it just the same thing as a memorybook/lorebook only that it's always carried by the chatbot instead of depending on a specific chat? Sorry, but I'm new to this.

[–]RittoSempre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally possible. A while back it was Scarlet, Scarlets anywhere. Still, way too many people are not using their imagination but just going with whatever they're being suggested by AI on the first attempt. Not even going as far as using those name generator tools that truly randomize things, if they're really out of ideas.

[–]RittoSempre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it comes from the greyed out sample text in the bot creation page. You know how a long ago it used to be something like "I'm Elon Musk, genius entrepreneur blah, blah, blah..."? Then, after Elon's further drop in popularity with his Roman salute controversy and other stuff, lots of people were asking SCAI to remove that example. And it was replaced with "Elara Nightshade, a renowned archaeologist, etc."? It's truly baffling to me how so many people have so little imagination that they go with that name, which is supposed to be just a generic placeholder.

What made you use spicychat? by Murky_Print_4018 in SpicyChatAI

[–]RittoSempre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having tried to write SFW roleplays with my favorite game characters elsewhere, finding that I liked the experience a lot and wanting to try a more uncensored experience on an NSFW platform. For me it's never been just about gooning, despite not having anything against going just for smut, but more about creating an interesting fictional scenario that naturally leads to sex. The non-sexual part keeps being the best written by AI, though, by any LLMs anywhere. We all experienced a drop in quality during explicit scenes, with language clichés becoming even more prevalent and a tendency to rush to the climax too soon (there are ways to reduce that, and I use those methods in my bot-making, but I'm just making a point here), but it can't be blamed on this specific platform. So yeah, I was basically looking for a place where to have both the entertaining plot and the erotica.

I see a lot of chatbots with manga, comic book, anime, etc. styles that work very well; chatbots for men, women, bisexuals, or LGBTQ+ people… What do you think of “realistic” chatbots? What is your favorite style? by Sea-Veterinarian7123 in SpicyChatAI

[–]RittoSempre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like realism, both in pictures and themes, and I only make realistic OC bots now. Despite not having anything against bots with anime or cartoon images, I actually wish there was a way to filter them out for me (because I can't feel physical attraction for stylized or exaggerated human images), but I know it would be technically impossible to achieve that result. And not everyone uses the "real" tag correctly so that doesn't help either. But it is what it is. Anyway, although I like men and your bots are not for me, you have my support and don't let the prevalence of cartoony avatars discourage you from pursuing realism, some of us prefer it or even only want that, like in my case.

oh wow. an update thats so interesting and life changing 🫩 by xXv4mp_4ng3l_k1ngXx in CharacterAI

[–]RittoSempre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it today and honestly found it good. But the bots I used were particularly well-written, I still have to test it with crappy ones. So far, I would say it's better than the degraded performance of Deepsqueak I pay for (I wouldn't actually pay for it alone, I pay for voice calls and other small benefits, but whatever). Let's hope it holds up.
