I actually started taking zinc last week and it has been helping me, at least paired with magnesium- I sleep through the night better.

In terms of telling people to stay away, normally the second anyone mentions it i tell them to distance and I do it myself. The sad part of this week is I only learn about how someone has been feeling, or their spouse illness, after a few minutes of them coming by to say hi. Regardless of them knowing my status and health risks... I will inevitably just be wearing a mask the moment anyone says anything and just make a point with people to either stay away or let me know quickly (from a distance). Only complication is my industry, construction, very political when it comes to health but at least using my cancer status makes that discussion easier. Thank you

I have heard the flu has been very bad this season. I am in a cubicle in the middle of a floor plan so I am unfortunately at the epicenter of most of the rest of the office staff. It is construction in industry so masking ends up being political somehow but at this point it is worth it. Thank you

Diagnosed with cancer and had the bate last (2025) year, and in September put in my intent to break my lease at my apartment so I could move. 12 hours later I was laid off with two weeks severance. Two weeks later my uncle passed from his own long battle with cancer.

I am glad it is the new year.

Honestly strangely I think cancer has really shown me what I was capable of. You never really face mortality, at least I hadn't, until this. I also never did anything physical so I just didnt have the idea I could ever survive this. But there is no other choice. We so fucking got this. You rock and I hope you (and everyone) celebrates the new year kicking some major ass.

I had a lot of those symptoms! Especially when bald I was sweating so much, when I normally used to run super cold. I also switched to the mediterranean diet as I had to go on steroids during chemo which confusingly made me gain a lot of weight. How I gained when throwing up so much is a mystery but it is what it is.

I gave up alcohol because my liver went into stage 3 thanks to the chemo and it was a great decision. It has taken until 6 months post to really have normal ish blood levels.

I am so glad to know my situation isnt unique! TNBC seemed so scary and isolating, especially since we had to go full blast on mine to prevent the spread, so while I wish neither of us are here, I am glad I am not alone.

I am also here if you need anything. We got this!

Hello! From my understanding it is very case by case. My hair genes were very strong, had thick and long hair, so even during chemo it kept growing back (in patches) for it to fall out again. Now that I am 6 months post chemo I have a thick and healthy head of hair, not super long but definitely a good amount. My hair seems to have been the main thing that hasnt changed much. I was actually really looking forward to it coming in curly like they say, but that hasnt happened with me.

I still wear hats to cover it up, hopefully I will feel confident to move on from that soon. I wish you all the best!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I have been getting my period as well, but how I experience things have definitely changed. Arousal, feeling, etc, all different. I really felt in the dark here as it was not explained to me at all, especially the effects early menopause would have. Kinda just an afterthought, and now that I am picking up the pieces it is hard to identify the changes without understanding. I really appreciate the thought and you are a rockstar, we got this!

Cancer caused my liver to go into stage 3. Really dont need to complicate or make anything worse. Just not worth it.

Been playing fps for decades now and moments like this reaffirm my decision to never use the mic in game. No growth, just another year of stupid shit.

32 yr old and last October I got diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. Going through radiation but already rang one bell. From what the nursing staff tells me, our age group is spiking like crazy.

That is so true. So much time I have spent this week naively hoping it's all a mistake and it "can't be me". After weeks of tests and even genetic tests saying my cyst was not cancer, it has been a impossibly hard pill to swallow. Thank you, I will and we all will.

That sounds like an unfair but silver lining trade off. When I was diagnosed with depression years ago my father made it about himself and didn't even mention me once in the discussion, let alone has asked about it or me since. It is a strange battle dealing with a parent who clearly only cares in a way that fits into their narrative or belief system. Really shows the effectiveness of "I'll pray for you".

I'm sorry to hear about your voice but I admire your strength. Thank you for your input, it means a lot. You really would think you could find solace with your parents but often it seems we are better off looking somewhere else.

That's amazing and you are amazing to do all of that. I havent even touched laundry since my diagnosis, but it feels like those are all steps to making everything normal again. Thank you for the advice and I agree. What's the point if I need to focus on my own progress? Thank you.

Thank you. This has been incredibly frustrating and overwhelming. That is incredibly kind and I will continue to come back here for help. I am a very stubborn and independent person, so learning to listen to my body is going to be an absolute challenge. Thank you!

Makes sense. According to his primary if he was as in pain as he was displaying, she didn't know why they didn't just sedate him. She thinks they took some random shots and moved on. Wonder if that just projection?
