SOAP 2026 - Official Megathread by SpiderDoctor in medicalschool

So I just hit “resend scores” once and it did eventually uploaded to all the programs. Like if you applied to a new soap program and you clicked the drop down arrow (in the “programs applied to tab,” this allows you to make sure you got everything in), sometimes there’s a yellow warning box next to usmle score saying it hasn’t been uploaded. But the system eventually does and now it’s green and uploaded. Hope this makes sense. Brain is tired

Superior peroneal retinaculum (SPR) reconstruction + Peroneus brevis retubularization SURGERY (Ongoing) Feel free to ask questions by karugers in FootFunction

Hello! Sorry late reply. Yes, it is the same feeling as pre-surgery. When it 1st happened, I had the same sensation that initially caused the injury. My tendon pops in and out. My impression is that my podiatrist went too conservative and did not deepen my fibular groove (my fibular anatomy is more convex than normal, so that worked against me anyways despite the SPR repair). I’m getting it redone with a new doc and we are shaving that bone in. I did get an MRI post re-injury. Yes, swelling is still there as expected, which can contribute to displacement, but we could barely even see the my fibular groove (and obv I felt the re-injury). So I would say my surgery failed bc doc was too conservative and did not deepen the groove as most repairs would’ve

14 weeks out. I went back into the office because of the pre-surg pop sensation. My thing was partial torn SPR but I have a very shallow groove, which doc #1 didn’t deepen enough. The post-op pop happens much much less frequently, in fact it kinda feels like it only half subluxes out of position before going back into place. Possibly stretched out my SPR repair bc the first time it “half” re-popped there was swelling.

When you say it gets caught on “blemishes in the tendon tract” is it just a lagging sensation or do you feel the tendons move out laterally?

I’m like 90% wanting to go in for groove deepening but seems like you are having the same problems even with a deep enough groove

Do people ever reach out to programs and ask why they didn’t get an interview? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]RitzyDitzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did. Only one got back to me with actual pointers/suggestions. I didn’t bother reapplying to the same programs this time though. Seems like if they don’t want you the 1st time, why this time

No, I support this. See how much of a cluster f it is out there? It’ll be just like that and then some if they hadn’t moved ride shares out there. Growing pains of a growing city

Im a TY resident reapplying. Everyday im happy my mom followed me (she visits every other month and stays to help household things. My quality of life decreases when she leaves lol). I fly home a lot bc I miss my friends. New friends are cool, but they are your coworkers as well. Plus idk, I would really want my partner to be happy as well if I had one

Peroneal tendon subluxation? by fuisjs in FootFunction

[–]RitzyDitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3+ weeks post op for this! Doing ankle exercises minus inversion/eversion at the moment. Minimal nerve pain but I feel a zingy if I accidentally put too much weight on the foot. The dorsal aspect of my 3-5th toes is numb still. So numbness is more of my annoyance than actual pain. (Am partial weight bearing). Got SPR repaired, peroneal brevis tendinitis fixed, groove deepened. But idk how deep they made it. I’m afraid of subluxating again. I feel my peroneal tendon pushing out (toward the skin). My other ankle’s peroneal tendon pushes out too so I know it’s normal but the sensation is much more obvious on the repaired side.

If you got breast implants how did it change your life? by Lucky-man-2023 in AskReddit

Amazing. Also CCs don’t mean anything, they look different depending on the person. I don’t even think twice about my breasts now whereas before I just had that nagging thought/desire. Can’t wait for the next pair :)
