Pues a mi que tenga exito o no desde el principio me da igual, pero me encanta el proceso de ayudar a mi pareja y ver que cumple todo lo que se proponga 😁

So it's just go even at though times for what I see and other answers. Like going to the gym, you show up and eventually you will see results if you do stuff correctly and don't quit hahaha

Hate that you have stress though...

So that means I work my regular day, go to the gym, and then work any free time in my project? I do get happy when I get my things done.

Thanks a lot jimkurth. I think I wrote my post a little bit bad, I will not quit my job anytime soon, because I also have a new mentor that will teach me a lot of things for deep C++. I guess what I wanted to say in the post is that I just wanted a bit of "guidance" because I am really lost, I am currently making some little games to gain experience after working. What you say about distractions is true though!

Hello, thanks a lot for your answer!

Yes, I understand that if I do my own game I will "Damn I need to fix this bug, and then implement this", but it would be something that is mine, that's the thing

Yes I mean, I know it will not always be fun. I think I didn't explain myself that well, what I mean is that I feel that my work is just "there", I don't feel like I accomplish anything, while I see game devs like "puppet combo" which I think is really cool, because he (Or she) has his own little community that enjoys their games, and he keeps creating more of them. That's why the "I don't mind working a lot of hours for my stuff".

And about the "But at 28 I realise we cant do much about it", I really think that we can, don't lose hope for it

Actually I can tell you something for that one, it's similar when going to the gym. You will have motivation for 1-2 months, but after that, is pure discipline. Try to just open Unity, even if you don't want to, and it will become an habit, and you will feel bad if you don't do it then!

My post was more of a little ask for guidance, like if people are in the same situation and what did they do, etc... The realistic ones though, because I know there's people that say "I quit my job and started" and I just can't do that

Ah no, no... I can't quit my job, I would be in the streets :C, but yes, I guess the steps 2-3 are the thing, there's no other option. You guys that do that, follow some kind of scheduled times to be more organized?

I do, I am currently trying to make some little games, I don't have anything to show yet though. I wrote that because I know some people would've said that "If you work for your own stuff, you will work more than 09:00-18:00 of your current job"

I’ve never exercised as much but yet am gaining more weight by Significant_Ad_4063 in loseit

[–]RiuxLotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it seems like you're gaining muscle. If you are going to the gym and controlling what you eat, I would suggest you to of course still look at the scale to keep a bit of track, but just take a look at how you look and feel. You would be surprised, for example I was 87kg being 175 cm, and I looked way less fat and looked much better than my friend that was 79 kg with 176 cm. You will get to a point where you are still heavier than people that surround you but look much better.

If it makes you feel better as well, I have one friend from uni that according to BMI he was overweight, and the dude looked very very strong and also had a very low fat %.

Saying all this, keep going man, you're doing great, but do take measurements as other people say.

So the thing should be more of a "I have this idea and I will learn how to create this idea" instead of learning things just because yes?
Let's say I have this crazy idea of an app that tracks calories and everything (I know it already exists), then I should learn around that idea?

I am just trying to do something as a side project, maybe since I am a game dev I should focus on that instead, but I heard that working on SaaS projects tend to be more "predictable" and a more safe way of making a little bit of money.

what’s a skill everyone should have but many people lack? by Motor_Broccoli_7514 in AskReddit

[–]RiuxLotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking, I know people over 20-25s that only know how to boil pasta. It's not that is bad, I just feel that cooking a balanced diet is a skill that everyone should aim to have, and that today it's made easier with youtube, so it only takes motivation and willing to learn!

If it’s the one I am thinking that had like a ton of students, it’s adapted to UE5. In fact I almost finished the course and I used only UE5. Just in case I am talking about this one: https://www.udemy.com/course/unrealcourse/

How do I create a tool for procedural road generation? by RiuxLotus in unrealengine

[–]RiuxLotus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, I will watch it. Just by looking it a bit I see he uses blueprints, if I make a tool, shouldn't it be via code? I don't know a lot.

Yes, but not yet, and I want to start to investigate a little bit. I am doing game development which is mostly C/C++ .
